I'm a complete monster lover, I've read a lot of monster smut (it was mostly m/f, but we're getting more and more of it here too) and if it's one thing you want as a monster smut reader, it's for the monster to stay - a monster. None of that transforming into a human, no, we don't need that, we need him with horns and that monster dick.

Wow, this story was fantastic. Simply fantastic! Original ideas and an interesting spin on the Beast and his castle.

Beau's coming from a poor background with a father who's shaming him for cooking, cleaning and working in a bakery, claiming that's a woman's job. Beau is a small guy who's pure hearted and wants only some peace and for his father to care about him, but he's being bullied left and right by everyone.

Beau's father offers him up to the Beast in exchange for letting him go while he was traspassing in the castle and Beau, heartbroken and resigned, goes to the secret castle, where he finally meets the Beast.

Now, this particular Beast is made of something else than what we're used to from the original fairytale. No, this Beast is a horny devil, he's always running hot, possessive, he's hard all the damn time, he lurks in the library and jerks off in the corner while Beau is reading a book and he can't stop thinking about wanting to fuck him into next week. He's already been in love for a year with the guy, now he's just thinking about his ass all the time.

"Would his fingers trace the veins that run up my length, the same way that they move delicately over the gilded titles of those books? Would he lick his forefinger and swipe away the precum leaking out of my cock, the way he does to turn each page?"



Their interactions were funny and hot, the Beast actually scents Beau's moods and thinking, so Beau can't really hide his growing arousal. The Beast is beastly, he's not a human and he has a dick, so naturally that goes against everything that's normal or permitted in Beau's world, but damn, he just can't stop staring at that thing and

Stop it, just stop it! Aaaah! Fuck, this was perfect! I wanted for Beau and Beast to frolick around the castle and fuck in every corner of that library and I wanted to read about it! There was some good smut in this book and it continues into mpreg, but again with an interesting twist - Beau can't get pregnant with getting his belly filled with cum, bit he has to eat it. If he eats it, his body gets rearranged and is made for conception.

The story had a bit of an abrupt ending. The Beast's declaration of love was believable, while I felt Beau needed some more time.
Even the epilogue was included, where Beau and the Beast live happy with their family in the magic castle.
I definitely preferred this ending to the original one.

I'm giving this book 4.5⭐ and rounding it up. That little half of the star was taken down for the (for my taste too) quick ending, but other than that, it's a story absolutely worth reading.

It’s a pretty short and lighthearted story, perfect for a quick read, or palate cleanser between longer/heavier books.

In this Beauty and the Beast retelling, instead of Belle we have Beau. His father is a greedy drunk that uses his free labor, while berating him for being feminine and doing woman's work like cleaning, working at a bakery, and reading. The father constantly runs through schemes to get rich quick, but everything falls through, they're barely scraping by and it's only because of Beau. The Beast has been from a distance watching Beau, enamored with him. When the father stumbles upon the Beast's Castle and tries to steal from it, the Beast takes advantage of an opportunity and takes Beau in the father's place. Beau is initially afraid of Beast, but he quickly senses his kindness as they spend time together and he starts to love him and also lust after him.

This was a sweet and smutty little novella. It covered a fair bit given how small it was, it built up the relationship between the mmcs better than I expected. I would have liked to understand though how the Beast came to be what he was, whether he was born that way, the story behind The magic of the castle, etc. And I would have liked to see that there was a hope for a good adult life for their children in the future. I couldn't really imagine what their adulthood would be. But we didn't get into that. I liked that this wasn't just a dirty romp (it was that too!), but there was also kindness, protectiveness, possessiveness, and care-taking. And I liked that the magic was like a person in ways, there was a cheekiness and charm to it.

The second step up the stairs wiggled, and then the third. It wanted me to follow, I realized."

"I . . . loved him. The realization didn’t come down like a strike of lightning, like it was sometimes described in my romance novels. I didn’t wake up one day and suddenly discover that I had feelings for the Beast. It had been gradual. I’d felt the first tiny spark of it when he’d saved me from the wolves. That little flame of attraction then grew with every kindness he showed me, every gentle touch he bestowed, every conversation. And it fanned hotter, grew into a bonfire, when he demonstrated his . . . his lust for me, his possessiveness wherever I was concerned. When he made clear that all he wanted was my pleasure."

I loved this novella! This is a shorter monster-loving romp with some pining, friendly stalking, great sex scenes, and even surprise mpreg (no pregnancy or birth scenes on-page).

Beauty and the Beast is one of my favorite fairytales, especially in MM retellings. This follows the fantasy story pretty much beat-by-beat except the differences between Beau’s father and no focus on Gaston in his cruel ways. Despite the premise this isn’t especially dark, and I loved that the Beast was really caring and wanted to protect Beau.

The library, of course, is an amazing feature of these sorts of retellings. Another aspect I enjoyed was the magic of the castle and how Beast doesn’t turn into a human because of true love. He stays his beastie self, and that’s great.

My one suggestion to the author is to avoid the “straight-to-gay” tag. I don’t think it was relevant to the story and can turn some readers off.

Overall, I didn’t come in expecting much and came away loving it!

I’d personally say this isn’t a retelling of the fairytale as much as a Disney’s animated Beauty & the Beast…. We got the inventor father, the manly Gaston, the horse Phillippe, the wolf attack & fight, village mob.

It was fine. I don’t really care for retellings, but this had a lot of other things that I thought would make up for it… tail play, massive size difference, monster romance, breeding, mpreg. But they were all kinda meh. The tail and the size difference were definitely under-utilized. You can’t tell me the beast is 3x the size of Beau, with a cock that Beau can’t even get both his hands around and then just have anal virgin Beau take it smooth as butter.

I also found myself skimming far to much to rate this higher.

I thought this was a perfectly good retelling of Beaty and the Beast, however if you need the retelling to hit all the same notes as the original, this one might be frustrating because of the relationship between Beau and his father. Other than that, I liked it. I especially liked that the beast doesn’t become human. Monsterfkers unite!

Beau was such a pushover towards his father which, understandable but also frustrating. I'm glad his father got what was coming. Justice for Beau!!!

Wish it was longer and more paced out, and wish we could see the ahem making of the babies rather than a time skip.

Love classics with a twist!

This was a fun fast read that twisted an old favorite on its head to make it a bit darker and a whole lot hotter. I could've easily read three times the amount of content in this just to get more interactions between the Beast and Beau, but I also thought it worked really well as a quick shortie. 10/10 would recommend for a quick, super satisfying read!

there was a good amount of plot for a novella and the beast was so sweet !!!! he made sure that beau’s favorite books were in his castle. that’s so romantic.

well… the smut was boring. it’s MONSTER ROMANCE so i expected to see some different kinks. freaky shit. but the smut gave me absolutely nothing.

when they officially got together i literally had a blank face while reading the last few pages. insta-love is a no for me.

What I liked:

The sex was hot. It was also wild. There was a moment that felt even more unhinged to me then the sex in The Morningwood Tree, but hey. I’m here for weird. I also loved the breeding kink and the actual mpreg. What can I say? That shit’s 🔥.

What I didn’t like:

Beau decides he wants to fuck the Beast waaaaay too quickly. I was immediately less interested. I also didn’t love some of the dirty talk. Also that unhinged sex scene was silly imo, and pulled me out of their otherwise hot encounter.

Do I recommend? Yeah, especially if you like uncomplicated instalove and breeding kink.
