The holidays are a time where people usually come together. Some for a lifetime and others for seasons or reasons unknown.Marsion MillBrooks did not know what he was about to encounter when running into troubled teen Tim Jr. After a surprising event, Tim’s entire world comes crashing down, causing Marsion to step in and show him life doesn’t always give you a second chance, but when it does, use it and make something of yourself. When you get the chance to experience blessings, it’s only right you give those chances to others. So come enjoy this trip down memory lane and see Marsion give some a chance at Christmas!
“It be your own kids” is a statement I’ve said on numerous occasions as a mother but in this case it was for a good reason 🤣! Lil Tim Jr. was caught red handed attempting to steal Marison’s car and had no idea that he had the right one and the wrong one that day! Seconds away from being unalived, lil Tim pled his case and explained to Marison that he was in desperate need of money to bail his mom out of jail in time for Christmas! Seeing so much of himself in lil Tim as that former wayward teen, Marison decided that he would come through for Tim and his mother in a major way!
Kimary was at her whits end with her teenager and after finding out how her release came about, she was ready to throw in the towel and leave lil Tim to the streets he so desperately wanted to be apart of. She didn’t want to turn her back on her child but didn’t know what to do to get him back on the right track!
Marison was the type of man that saw a need and fulfilled it! He showed up at just the right time in Kimary and lil Tim’s life and their future was forever changed as a result of his generosity!
For the most part I really enjoyed this story. Kyeate comes up with the most creative stories but also like most of her books, they start out strong then trickle off as they progress. Thankfully it picked back up and ended strong but the progression to sex was so out the blue and random af that I did nothing for the storyline. That was a wrong place wrong time situation and I feel like the whole scene and next step to them being in a relationship could’ve been placed elsewhere in the story. If I’m being honest, it could’ve been taken out all together. Yes we as readers want sex 😂 at least I do 🤷🏽♀️ but it has to make sense in the story and here it did not! That would be my only negative take away. Nonetheless, it’s still worthy of an add to your holiday tbr!
Quick, read with all the feels! That move that Tim made could have turned out so differently, but thankfully Marsion is a stand-up guy. Marsion is making the most of the opportunity he was given, by turning his life around. After he hears Tim’s story, he decided to be help him out, and be a blessing to him in a big way! The way that Marsion gave of his time, money and resources to these strangers was beautiful! He got his own blessing as well in the end. Cute story! 👍👍👍
3.5 stars Aww this was a sweet read. What could have been a terrible situation, ended up being a blessing. Tim was being reckless, but he just wanted to ensure his mother was home for Christmas. His actions led him to cross paths with Marsion. Instead of turning Tim into a statistic he decided to help him. Unbeknownst to him, helping Tim led to him meeting his mother Kimary whom he had an instant connection with. Baby the way he showed out for them for Christmas was too much, but also so sweet. Who knew helping a family in a bind, would lead to finding love.
At a point the mmcs name was spelled wrong 😑 It's my pet peeve, it's important to ensure the names of your characters are correct.
This was a quick and sweet Christmas read!!! I’m a sucker for found family stories and this was definitely in that category. Marison was giving Christmas Angel energy because normal folks wouldn’t have given Tim a second chance let alone stepped up for him and Kimary the way he did. I do wish he woulda put hands on TK bc he deserved it but that probably would have ruined the holiday spirit. I LOVED the cameo and that gave the story a little more Christmas magic if you will. Overall this was a great read, if you’re looking for something short and sweet definitely grab this!
Kyeate gone always come with the good storylines and the energy needed for the MMC and FMC you hear me…so glad Everything worked out during this holiday season I love a good holiday book
And I can always count on a just a little paranormal activity somewhere 😉 so good
A quick read with all the feels! Lil Tim made a decision that could have turn out so differently had it been someone else. I understand what he was trying to do, but baby boy that not the way to get it done. Renounce street king Marison made the most out of his second opportunity to get it right and that he did, plus more. Marison took the time to truly listen and decided to help lil Tim out not thinking he would get stuck in Kimary web that even she didn’t know she was weaving…LOL Baby girl hitt ‘em hard without even trying. I dislike how things first place in Kimary life, that baby of hers should have done more time than what he got. I wish Marison would have just boxed him around just bit, but I understand why it was written that way. You don’t need to do all of that when you are on “GME” (grown man energy), plus it showed lil Tim how a real man handles little problems. I like how Kimary trusted Marison without too much of an inter struggle with herself, which is good because all that back and forth with FMC self-thoughts gets to be too much at times. Great pen Ms Kyeate chef’s kiss.
This one wrapped me up gently and held on. A reminder that sometimes the biggest miracles don’t come wrapped in romance but in intervention. One unexpected encounter shifted the trajectory of a young life and that’s powerful. Especially knowing how differently that night could’ve ended for a young Black boy moving through the world with too much weight on his shoulders.
What stood out most was the intention behind the grace. A second chance isn’t just given it’s guided. Marsion stepping in wasn’t about being a savior; it was about being present, accountable and willing to pour into someone when it mattered most. That kind of love changes lives.
This story speaks to second chances in every form love, life, direction, purpose. It was soft, heartfelt and necessary. Proof that one act of compassion can open the door to a beautiful beginning. A truly wonderful Christmas story.

This book gave me all the feels. Lil Tim was trying to get bail money to get his mom out of jail and ended up getting caught trying to steal a car. Needless to say, this was the best mistake that he could've ever made. This set him and his mom up for some major life changes. Marison stepped in and made their life better. Kimary is dealing with a deadbeat baby daddy, and he deserved every lick she laid on him that led to her arrest. My favorite scene is when they are visiting the herb shop. Watching these two fall for each other and seeing how Marison steps up for Lil Tim was everything. I really enjoyed this book and can't wait to read more by this author.
This book pulls at your heart strings from the start and could have gone a different way. This was a quick read, and I was here and pulled in from the start. When you BD a fuck nigga and was laughing and praying for your downfall. Lil Tim was more of a man than his daddy. So glad Marison had a heart and was all for really reading a situation and understood what a second chance could do for a young boy. Marison not only takes to lil Tim but sees himself in him and gets a different connection with Kimary. Marison took the time to listen and understand what was really going on for a struggling mother who was doing her best with a teenager who has misplaced hurt bringing him down. Sometimes a big mistake can be the biggest and best blessing a family can receive. Watching Kimary and lil Tim along with Marison enter each other’s lives and how everything fit so well without it being forces. Loved watching a man step up with intentions for good and getting his own missing piece in the process.
Quick and good Tim was going through it dealing with a father who abandoned him outbid spite Kimary is a mom fed up with her son lashing out and the deadbeats ways so she let the deadbeat feel those hands and off to jail she goes now in comes Marsion a man of means who’s been in Tim’s shoes so instead of hurting him he Listens and sees himself and helps beyond measure…..this was quick and good read wanted more also how did the judge know if Tim and what happens to him
I read this book along with a friend who suggested it to me! I absolutely loved this book and binge read it from start to finish. This was a feel good Christmas story for everyone to enjoy. I loved seeing how the MC was understanding and how he was level headed throughout the story. This was my first time, reading a book by this author, but it certainly will not be the last!
This literally read like a Hallmark Christmas movie. I was notttt expecting the turn it took but I was happy when it did! And every character played a specific role that contributed to the story. Fxck the baby daddy — niggas ain’t shxt. 😂😂 in real life tho. And TJ is a good kid , so I’m glad Marsion held him down — just ended up falling for the mama too! Both worlds.
Loved this one ! These Christmas books are really good. 😊
This was a good one… To meet your soulmate during Christmas, help them, prosper, fall in love with them and have that story to tell three years later is great! Marison fell in love with Kamary married her she still works by his side. He became a father to Tim who is now a college student. They now have a daughter together name Madison.
She had me at Marsion being dark skin hehe. This was such a wholesome Christmas story. Kimary was down on her list trying to be the best mother she could be and she wasn’t expecting much. Life was lifing for both her and Marsion but things worked out for the better. This Christmas story was filled with kindness, wholesome actions and cheers.

This was a beautiful love story. I am so happy for Kimary and Tim. Marison is definitely the real definition of a real man. He came through for them, and now they are a family. I knew they would end up getting married. Great Read!

For this being a Christmas short, I really appreciate how detailed this was from chapter to chapter. I loved how Marison stepped up and was able to show his character and his growth with Tim Jr. Overall, really good story. I wish it was longer lol
This has to be one of the best Christmas books I've read it pulled on every one of my heartstrings. Marsion was truly a Christmas blessing for Kimary & Tim. I'm so happy she got her man and HEA.
I sooo adores this Christmas story. It's something about a man taking a kid under wing and being a perfect male role model and being the best step dad. This book gave all the feels to family and a perfect HEA!! Merry Christmas 🎅🏿🤶🏿🎄❄️
I loved Kimary and Marsion together. Though it started off rocky, in the end they got a very happy ending! Tim got a true father in Marsion, Kimary received so many blessings! Just a great Christmas story!
