A chance meeting brought Tom Dawson and Kathy Sparks together. They found in each other what they had long been searching for—Love. But a bumpy road laid ahead; it was filled with risk and meant moving out of their respective comfort zones. Either way, a decision had to be made. And fast.

Not at all what I was expecting!
I will be honest, by the title of the book I was expecting something along the lines of the Triffids, but that is not the kind of book that I got. And I was surprised and pleased.
When Tom Dawson met Kathy Sparks he knew he had met the love of his life. But he could not have predicted the the impact, or changes she would bring. Being drawn out of his comfort zone with first a journey south, then to the other side of the world, Tom and Kathy do their best to stay not only together, but also one step ahead of those who are desperately searching for them. But trying to build a new life together was just the start. The moment they began to feel that they may finally be on top, is when the real adventure began!
This book is well paced and full of twists and turns to keep you invested. The author has clearly researched every aspect of his journey from details on carnivorous plants to the agencies Tom and Kathy interacted with. I actually found myself Googling the plants he mentioned to find out more, having like most people, only having heard of the venus fly trap before. Aside from the plot I found many parts educational. If you want a book that will take you on an adventure, then give this one a try.

I almost gave it 2 stars but it was slightly better than that because it did keep me entertained.
Not my normal genre either but I keep carnivorous plants and that got me interested.
It is an easy read. Lots of pizza, showers and sex (in that order).
Food, shower and sex scenes are redundant and not necessary for the book plot, but they did add length to the book.
All a bit too tidy too - but that’s okay. As I stated - the book kept me entertained and it might do the same for you.
And yes, carnivorous plants are mentioned in the book and are a small part of the overall plot.
