The only force stronger than the approaching hurricane was their hidden desire for one another…
Beck Carlson is prepping for the approaching storm when a random voice offers to help. Beck is more than surprised. After all, he thought he was alone in the Purple Pelican condos, everyone else having evacuated in the advance of Hurricane Ellen. Instead, a handsome ginger waif, Ford Wilson, pokes his head out of his front door, limping along in a big plastic boot after a recent skateboard accident. Bruised and battered, he’s been unable to prep for the hurricane.
A native Floridian who’s seen his share of storms, Beck takes pity on the sexy skater boy, sharing his own hurricane supplies and showing him the ropes as Ford hunkers down for his first Category 3 storm. After the two part ways for the duration, Beck feels bad, returning with fresh supplies and offering to weather the storm in Ford’s condo. A nervous Ford gratefully accepts, locking them both inside for a whirlwind romance as intense as the approaching storm, and just as dangerous…

Alex Winters is an Amazon bestselling romance author with a passion for holiday music, junk food, cheesy 80s horror movies and Epcot. His series feature a variety of romantic pairings (M/F, M/M, F/F AND MMF) and include Campus Crush (Evernight), Slightly Sinful (Siren Publishing), Good Sports (Ninestar Press), High-Stakes Heroines (JMS Books) and more. His stories tend to be sizzling and sweet, with a whole lot of laughs – and spice – along the way!
This was fun! I give these two maximum stars on their hurricane prep, which is more than I can say about a lot of disaster romances. The injury caretaking was absolutely top notch. The phrasing was a bit awkward at times, and there was a bit too much food imagery related to sex and cum - disliking that is more of a me thing than a problem with the book, though.
Storm Warning is a good erotic novella, with character development enough that I didn’t feel like it was all about the steam.
I’ve found forced proximity stories work fairly well with the shorter lengths, and I was interested to see how the impending hurricane would bring Beck and Ford together. Of course, things progress quickly in Storm Warning, but it didn’t feel rushed or overdone. It is simply a steamy start of a relationship between two young men. Both men are decently flushed out at the beginning of the story, with a good basis of mutual attraction established early on.
Overall, I found Storm Warning to be a solid novella. Considering I hadn’t read this author before, I didn’t entirely know what to expect, but the writing and dialogue flowed and made for a quick, enjoyable read I’d recommend to a reader who favors forced proximity tropes and stories with more heat than romance.

A quick and steamy read, perfect for a rainy day or during a storm. Even with it being a novella, though, the character development was sufficient. And the forced proximity was appreciated, adding to the overall intensity and feel of the story.
“𝓜𝔂 𝓴𝓷𝓲𝓰𝓱𝓽 𝓲𝓷 𝓼𝓽𝓲𝓬𝓴𝔂 𝓫𝓸𝔁𝓮𝓻 𝓫𝓻𝓲𝓮𝓯𝓼,”
Ford and Beck were enjoyable to read, rather enticing, and demanding chemistry. Their relationship was casual yet comfortable. They were never rushed or forced together, which added to their overall performance.
My only drawback was a few editing issues. There were quite a few repetitive phrases that took away from the story in its entirety.
I loved this book! Forced proximity is always one of my favorite tropes and this is a new twist on it that I haven't read before. The sponge bath was my favorite part of the whole book.

A storm? Nothing outruns a storm, except maybe love.
I’ve never read anything by Alex Winters and I’m glad I rectified that. This was a cute story with plenty of sizzle. I got right into the story and couldn’t put it down. I felt like I was right there with the characters while they dealt with the storm and the oncoming desire.
This is told from the first-person perspective, via Ford and Beck. It was nice to be in their POVs and know what they were thinking as they got to know each other. I’m not wild about first person, but in this story, it worked. They’re relatable characters–Ford being a bit of a klutz on his skateboard and green at riding out storms and Beck being the epitome of don’t-judge-a-book-by-it’s-cover. They’re book likable and fun. Plus, the steam between them is great.
I did have a few quibbles beyond this being in first person. With a little more editing, this could be a great story. There were a couple editing issues that took me out of the story but might not bother other readers.
All in all, this is a hot short story about two unlikely characters finding each other in the midst of a crazy situation and realizing they have a lot more in common than every believed. If you’re in the mood for something hot and short, then this is the book you’re looking for.
A good start to the book by a debuting author. Beck was readying for a hurricane to hit and banterning down the hatches. Being part owner of units he knew all about what to do to prepare. With the help of a young injured Ford who hadn’t been through one before. A foot in a cast doesn’t make it easy to clean but Beck shows him. This has a feel of a Daddy and boy romance in a short novella form. I really liked this and would’ve loved a longer version. Includes both POVs with a HFN ending, this didn’t feel like its a HEA for me. Hot sensual scenes are played out but they don’t go all the way to the final base. Written well for a good flowing storyline and an unique one for me with a hurricane included. An ARC provided to me by the author in exchange for an honest review. I’ll be on the watch for more books.
Beck Carlson is familiar with preparing for a Cat 3 hurricane. The others have been evacuated from the condos, but he will be remaining in his until the storm passes. So he is surprised to hear a voice offering to help. Ford Wilson is a young man who has been injured from a skateboard accident. He was not fit to travel, nor could he effectively prepare for the hurricane. Beck shares his own supplies and tries to prepare Ford for what will be occurring soon. When Beck restocks his supplies, he goes over to offer to keep him company since he knows Ford is nervous about this. Beck expertly proceeds to take Ford’s mind off the storm and direct it onto their own activities which provide the perfect distraction. Is this the start of something more? Or a one-time event to keep their minds off the hurricane?
Beck and Ford's story is a fast read with a bit a drama, a hurricane and passion that ignites when the lights go out.
Ford is at his aunt's places staging when a hurricane approaches, Beck is getting securing the other apartments for the storm. When they first meet, Beck and Ford have a fun banter that starts to heat up. When the storm hits, their connection is as powerful as the winds.
Amazing fast read that is a perfect escape.

This novella worked well as a short erotic story. The forced proximity due to sheltering from a hurricane was an interesting touch. Despite the short length the characters were given enough depth and the caretaking was quite sweet. It all felt natural. I received a complimentary copy of this book via Booksprout and am happy to leave a voluntary review.
This was a surprisingly fresh and enjoyable read. Ford and Beck decided to ride out a hurricane, and they spent some fun and sexy times together in this novella which has a lot of heat and humor. Looking forward to reading more from this author.

This is a short and steamy romance between Beck and Ford. The author does a great job developing the story and painting her scenes. It's well written with descriptive scenes. Overlooking some editing I thought it was an enjoyable read.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
This was the debut book for this author and it was pretty good. It has nice characters and the storyline, while short, is good. There does need to be some editing done to it and that's why it's at a 3 and not a 4.
'I pledge to myself, right then and there, in the quiet moment before I can utter a single word, that whatever he’s offering, whatever he wants, whatever he suggests, even demands, I’m in. All in. And if he doesn’t suggest it? Then I will, Scout’s Honor!'
I really enjoyed this book. This was a fun, sweet romance. Usually the forced proximity trope is from a snowstorm, so a hurricane was a refreshing- if more dangerous- trade. I loved the banter between Beck and Ford and thought them really cute together. Beck has weathered down hurricanes before, but it's Ford's first, and he was all alone with his foot in a cast. So Beck decided to spend it with him. And Ford was more than happy for his company. 4 stars.
New meaning to 'all hands on deck'? Beck thinks he is alone, the last one left in the Condos. Then he hears a voice that offers help. Ford, slightly injured and unable to prep for Hurricane Ellen is experiencing his first Cat 3. Beck offers to share his knowledge and supplies with Ford. This story gives a whole new concept of activities for anyone waiting out a storm with company. Great way to get to know a new person, proximity under stress and potential duress exploses much that can create a solid foundation for a long lasting relationship. Entertaining MCs, nice flow. Scary fun. Nicely done. I received an ARC and am happily leaving a review.
A category 3 hurricane Ella brings two lost souls together in a small town in Florida, Siesta at a gated community to weather the storm and embrace the storm brewing between them…
I have never experienced reading about such a sensual sponge bath as Ford receives from Beck, my oh my is it hot and steamy!
This was a short, erotic and steamy novella that is sure to tantalise and tease!.

Beck and Ford are stranded in a building in Florida that houses about 10 units of which Beck owns 4 or 5. Ford is in his aunt’s unit trying to stage it for a possible sale. Ford had some bad accident while skating and he has boot on his foot and lots of bumps and bruises. This is Ford’s first hurricane and he isn’t really prepared. Now Beck is a pro, he’s stocked up a couple of units with flashlights, food and candles. Beck decides to bunker down with Ford during the hurricane and these men become intimately acquainted. I must say the bath scene was especially memorable. Great story.
This is a very sweet, not at all over the top story of two people connecting during a trying time. I LOVE how sweet Beck was; how nurturing and caring and compassionate. Ford was definitely not prepared for the situation, but it all worked out so sweetly. I can see this ending up in a very happy relationship, but the HFN ending was lovely.

Two hot, s*xy young men, weathering a hurricane with not much to do except a very erotic sponge bath and the steamy times to follow. The perfect interlude, and maybe more, to wait out Mother Nature’s fury of wind and rain. Short read for a stormy afternoon or evening.

I've never been disappointed with a book by Alex and this one is another great read. A short novella but with a well written forced proximity, instalove storyline and the character development for Beck and Ford is great. Add in plenty of intensity and heat and yet again a brilliant read from Alex.
