The version I read was a Chinese-English version, but I couldn't find one on this database so I could only settle for this.
I bought this book as a souvenir from a trip to China. What's special about this book is that it is printed on velvety silk and there are four beautiful stamps that could be found in the first two chapters (1 and 2) and the last two (5 and 6), which adds elegance and a sense of royalty as I carefully turn the pages.
This is a surprisingly short book (fewer than 50 pages), but it is packed with such impactful and concise messages about how to be a good ruler, how to be a good person, how to achieve success, good traits to cultivate, as well as tenets of a strong and harmonious country. It is said that Huangsigong (the author) had gifted Zhang Liang (Liu Bang's military strategist) this book after testing him 3 times. Using the essence of this book, Zhang helped Liu Bang found the Han Empire later on.
Though it was written eons ago, the messages still ring true to this very day, still fresh and relevant.
A succinct, well-written piece of Eastern wisdom could be enjoyed in one sitting. However, it could be revisited over and over again when one needs some directions in life.
