A collection of fine reflections, litanies, and prayers, this is a great resource for religious leaders and could form the basis of several years of reflections, prayers and poems to begin meetings for congregational leaders, as well as for incorporation in worship. Very small congregations and house churches may find this book also a useful worship resource as the spoken portion of many worship services could be pulled together easily and simply with Shick's arrangement of reflection, prayer, and responsive readings.

Okay. Maybe it's me, not the book. I shall buy no more meditation manuals. They all seem to be incredibly self-indulgent. This one seems to be no exception.
