Two stories which take place on Surrender Island .....a place where your BDSM fantasy or nightmare could come true.
To be honest I don't know what to write/say about this book. Both stories in this book contain NonConsensual sex so if that's not your thing then this is not for you. Both male protags are Uber Alpha, both women are kidnapped captives the second female protag is a porn star/model. Despite being labelled as Erotc Romance I personally think the inclusion of the word romance is slightly misleading romance implies a consenting relationship where both parties have a romantic inclination towards each other ,but I guess the publisher had no other 'label' to tag them with they're not porn, the sex is a major part of both stories not just thrown in for the sake of it, they're not literary either so....
I enjoyed both stories, they're what I would call mildly kinky (dependeding on your kinkometer) with bondage, extensive use of toys and sex, all/most of which is nonconsensual and used to break down and bring about a submissive response, however the scenes are not what I consider to be violent or cruel. The stories take place on Surrender Island which is a kind of parallel universe to our own, the captive women are brought to surrender through sex and this is the sole purpose of both stories. In the first the captive is brought to the island as part of her internal fantasy, total submission is something she beleives she needs, whilst the second story concentrates on a bondage porn star who is whisked away to the island to be taught a lesson, her Dom is duped into thinking she wants total submision and it's something she can't acheive on her own, this story centred around revenge and blackmail. There is no lovey dovey to these stories, no fluff, just a mutal meeting of minds and bodies. Not your usual romantic BDSM fare!!
I haven't read another author like Vonna Harper so can't give a comparison which is something I would've like to be able to do. I've to keep my thoughts as honest as possible despite the grey area with the use of the word romance, so if after reading this you 'think' you may like the stories I suspect you probably wont be disappointed.

This book is actually two stories. The Dance and The Mask.
Both deal with a woman getting kidnapped and taking to Surrender Island where they are to be trained/bought as sex slaves. If you don't like to read about non-consentual acts, bondage, sexual slavery, or sex toys then this book is not for you.
The Dance starts with Asia getting fired then she gets kidnapped/transported? To Surrender Island. It is like an alternate dimension idk not really sure did really say how just suddenly shes running in the park then bam shes in the forest, Surrender Island, getting chased, captured and bound. Zemar is in charge of training Asia for the auction. During this training she is bound or restrained almost the whole time, forced orgasms and such.
The Mask has Ferren who is a bondage porn star. She gets kidnapped and taken to Surrender Island by car and sold at an aution where she is bought by Mayer. Mayer is being payied to buy and basically torture Ferren. She has a couple scenes of multiple forced orgasms while in bondage and gagged. At the end she is bound and almost whipped but other than that no impact toys are used. Dildos, an electric bullet and rope chasity is used.
Overall I liked the stories. It wasn't over the top but gave you the implied threat and feeling of being taken into basically sexual slavery. Some women have fantasies like this and the author provided it. Both stories are basically the same plot with lil twists. . Girl kidnapped, taken to Surrender Island, bondage, forced orgasms.
I did have problems with the consistancy of the last story The Mask. At one point before they have unprotected sex they have, the talk, shes says on the pill and gets checked periodically (p. 244) but earlier in the story she states she was in a cage for 4 days before the auction where she was sold. Soooo.... Ummm the pill only works if you take it everyday so unless the kidnappers provide her with bc or she magically has been taking it, she has not been on the pill so can still get pregnant. Sorry just an inconsitancy that stood out to me.
As for sex slavery stories this one is on the tamer scale from ones I've read. Still liked the book was sexy erotic for over 95% of the book so can't beat that. Got my juices flowing and wasn't a disspointment. Gave the right amount of antisipation, submission, domination, bondage and sexual torture to be a hit.

I thought this was a novel but it turned out to be 2 stories both taking place on Surrender Island.
Basically, I was bored throughout the book but I'm one of those who can not just put down a book without finishing it. Althought I did skim A LOT of the book. The description of the book sounded really interesting but the actual story fell way short of my expectations. This wasn't really a power exchange book - the "sub" was basically given control - at least a good amount of it. Really it was just about a "Dom" giving constant orgasims to the "sub" and her protesting that she doesn't like it. Whatever. I was bored.

The Dance
This story I give three stars. Asia Drake is transported to Surrender Island to have all her sexual fantansies realized. The island is apparantly in a different dimension. This part of story is where I wish there was more information. It is only mentioned a couple times that this island is not part of the "real" world. I wish more detail was given about the island.
The Mask
Ferren Cooper is transported to Surrender Island as part of a revenge scheme organized by her former boss. This book I would give 2.5 stars. Really not a whole lot of plot.

Loved loved loved this super erotic book. My first Vonna book read. The first story was the best tho both were really juicy. Only issue I had with it was the both story's male lead was so emotionally detached, but I suppose was part of the fantasy persona of his personality. Highly recommended to light a fire in your imagination and in your panties. =))
