Dr. Claire Bank's career has largely been a joke. She's derided by her colleagues for chasing a molecular component that may enable time travel, and has yet to definitively prove it exists. But when she discovers a molecular singularity inside the head of a man, Chris Mereta, hospitalized for dementia, her work kicks into overdrive. As Chris' doctor and family wrestle with Chris' hit-or-miss lucidity, and the very real threat the singularity poses to his health, Claire will walk a fine line between the work she was born to do, and endangering the life of a man who has become a friend.
This thought-provoking science fiction romance explores the nature of the human experience, when time is not linear, and mistakes need not be final.

The Singularity offers an interesting premise—a spacetime singularity forming in the brain of a patient with a traumatic brain injury. It's a funny, sweet, feel-good romance for speculative fiction fans.
If you’re a Star Trek fan or you enjoy scifi romances, you might like this. There are discussions of the medical and scientific aspects, but don’t read this expecting plausible scientific explanations. However, to me, this had a mood of humor, exploration, and optimism reminiscent of Star Trek that I found a refreshing change from the doom and gloom common in so much modern speculative fiction.
The book got off to a slow, awkward start, and the ending felt a bit rushed, but otherwise I found this very enjoyable. I wasn’t fond of some of the characters at the beginning of the book, but they grew on me as I got to know them better and started to understand their various quirks. Towards the end, I was rooting for them all.
This book contains a lot of sexual innuendo and references to sex, as well as discussions of violence and traumatic injuries, but I don't recall anything too graphic. It should be appropriate for a fairly wide audience.
I was provided an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. The ARC I reviewed had some typos and a few grammar and punctuation problems, but I suspect many of those will have been corrected during the final proofing. It was already in better shape than many books being published these days.
Never Give Up Searching For What You Believe and Can Prove (Sometime)
Nicolas Wilson is a new writer for me to read so I had no expectations reading this book. It is not often I read books written by men unless they are more science fiction or fantasy in nature.
Having been gifted a copy of the book for an honest review from the author I would read it to hold up my end of the deal.
When I started reading this book I was not sure of what I was getting into. You have a cast of characters from the serious to the zany with the quirks seeming to flow into everyone from time to time.
Two doctors on different paths trying to do the right thing but not for the same reasons. Letting go of the past or changing the past may be an option. Dr. Banks’ career has lots of detractors and she is considered something of a joke in her field of study. What she is searching for may exist in the brain of a patient being treated for dementia.
The story at time lost me when it was switching between the characters different issues. I will not blame the writer for my confusion as I was reading this late into the night and I just might have been tired but did not want to put the book down.
Now if you want a taste of the real world with just enough science fantasy with a twist you will enjoy this book. The author also managed to put a little romance, angst, jealousy and regrets to help keep it interesting.
Received this book for an honest review from the author.
Mixed Feelings. This was the first book I've read by Nicolas Wilson. I wasn't sure what to expect when I started reading this book but was pleasantly surprised by what I read. The storyline involves quantum physics so be prepared for a lot of scientific language. It also has a lot of medical discussions dealing with traumatic brain injury. I'm glad I stuck with it through the slow parts as the book was worth it.
This is a standalone book. It is full of snappy dialogue, a lot of sexual innuendo and some sex.
While the singularity brought all the story characters together, it didn't really address the issues of after the singularity. Now what? For me the ending was abrupt and left a lot of questions unanswered. Overall I enjoyed reading this book and would like to read more about these characters.

This review is from: The Singularity (Kindle Edition) Very interesting premise of time travel on a quantum level. I got lost a little in the science of quantum physics, but it moves on quickly and the story is quite intriguing. It's well written with fun characters that really grow on you the more you get to know them. I found myself actually laughing out loud a couple of times and I don't do that. There is a lot of sexual innuendos thrown about the whole of the book, but it seems to go with the characters. I highly recommend reading this book. *I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review*
I found this book quite intriguing! This characters were developed really well and I found myself truly wanting to know what would win....science? The heart? Morality? To me it would seem much homework was done to make this book feel so real and accurate, and then again it may be that this writer is just that good. In either case if you are looking for a book with a bit of sci fi twist in it that deals with real human nature dilemmas, look no further! I was given an Arc in exchange for an unbiased review.
