"Temporary Paragon" is the story of Beth and Richard!

Our h is a successful businesswoman, who runs her own secretarial company, a happy spinster, caring aunt and coaches her own baseball team for enjoyment. Her monotonous life changes when her beloved niece arrives with a problem, and she realizes her new client might have seduced, and discarded her own relative!
She then plots a subtle revenge and goes to work for the man himself. Our H is the owner of a large publishing firm, a sneaky ghost writer and a charming rogue. She however, finds an extremely dreamy and utterly gorgeous man, who is happy to kiss and let her manage his life..until she goes ahead with the sabotage and he promises "repentance". But things are not always what they seem..

Well written book with a strong and sassy heroine, a besotted and caring hero, loads of heated kisses and flirting, crazy relatives, a vengeful error, some apologies and HEA. The h's oversight is glaringly obvious, yet it is fun to see her fall in love and the H's frustration and pursuit. Also I loved every excuse of her dating her "MAC".
However, in the last 50 pages things went a bit downhill for me. The "cheating", "rape", "OM" confusion were so out of character, I could not believe I was reading the same book. If not for the mess, this would have been a definite 5 star read.

The quieter moments stand out - when the H helps the h with her little league baseball coaching- when they get stuck in an elevator and she falls asleep on his chest and he ties her hair in knots to pass the time (and also cuz he loves her hair....), it makes me fall in love with him............

Bumped it to 3 cz of the HEA. Also loved that the h was boss of her own thriving company and well to do. The 2 things I have issue with are:

1. The H started groping and kissing the h (his temp secretary) within an hour of meeting her on the job. Previously he had called her sexy and other things on the first phone call he ever had with her, EVER. This kissing and groping continues *throughout* the whole book and at one point he takes off her clothes and gives her head (yes you read it right) while she is asleep on his boat. Very dubcon.

2. After the H and h are married, the h walks in on the H's secretary flashing her underwear to him (under the guise of showing him some accident scars) and he is "widely grinning." The H splutters, immediately fires the secretary, but later on admits that although he absolutely didn't instigate it but that doesn't mean he can't enjoy it. So I anticipate major cheating in the future cz to him emotional cheating doesn't count apparently.

The book had it's funny moments, the whole always getting stuck in the elevator thing. The heroine runs a business, coaches a little league team, she is resourceful as hell and a maiden aunt whose niece comes crying about a broken heart and she goes off to make that man marry her. She goes undercover as his secretary and well I loved how she handled everyone at the office and even the hero. She was delightful and it was hilarious seeing the hero's niece and how the hero tricked her into marrying him. All in all I enjoyed the book.

easy ,funny and enjoyable like Julia Roberts` romcom and main star is lovely Beth that presumes too much makes a real mess of hero`s life and business/chuckling/.
I just saw that my rating is almost a year old and this book is still unknown to many readers so if you come across it please read it. I have read too many panty-melting-no-brainers these days so if you`re fed up with them go for this heartwarming classic..maybe it`s time to reread it myself...

If you like cheesy, silly romance then this might be for you. If you prefer cheesy, sensible romance then this isn’t for you. Btw, heroine takes the trophy for being the biggest troll of all time😂
