Are you ready? It's potty time. DK has just what you need to introduce the concept to your little one. Here are two new his and hers photographic potty books perfect for toddlers. My Potty Book For Girls and My Potty Book For Boys demystifies the often strange world of toilet training with ease. These step-by-step books start with the "novice" who is still in diapers and progress to the successful child who is gaining control of the situation. Toddlers are encouraged to "Take a seat" with a gentle "Take your time, there's no need to rush" approach. Photographs of real children will capture any child's attention and help develop confidence. At the end of My Potty Book parents will confidently exclaim, "Hooray! You did it!"
Yeah. It gets the point across without dragging it out with a long contrived narrative.
Can't say any "potty book" has ever had me rushing to write a review and not sure why I feel compelled to offer one now. The photographs of little guys moving from diapers to using the potty chair are simple, direct, and have a humors bend that little guys will appreciate. It is a short and sweet board book that would be great for when you are at the stage of trying to catch them early enough in the act to rush them to chair and sit them on it so they get the idea.
I pray I have better things to do on a Saturday night from here on out than to make a GoodReads entry on potty book. Geez.
I liked to see all the different types of potty chairs in this book. When Mama and Papa would have me practice sitting on my potty chair, we would look at this book. I liked the picture of the boy wearing a shirt that had an octopus wearing an eye patch on it. I have shirt like that too.
A young toddler ask for this book to be read during storytime. The book was formatted well for young toddlers (board book)and had good pictures and explanations about learning to use the bathroom.
