This was our introduction to nature lore. Sweet stories with lessons, morals, and insight on flowers, trees, wildlife presented in a way that stuck with us. Book in public domain and available online
This is a collection of short stories that personify elements of nature to teach lessons about the natural world. Everything from apple trees to robins to the goldenrod plant to wasps are talked about as creatures growing under mother nature's care and have great purpose in the world. I didn't enjoy the tone of writing very much. It seemed childish at times. My children, however, did enjoy it, although most of the stories were not very memorable.
This was our science reader for school. It had many cute and memorable stories to teach about different plants and insects. We enjoyed it very much. As always, I would have preferred if it gave credit to God instead of mother nature.
This was a delightful little book I read aloud from periodically throughout the school year to my elementary-aged kiddos, along with our nature study. I chose good photos online to go with each chapter and they drew the subject while listening to the chapter.Sometimes we'd look up a you tube video too. Very enjoyable!
