An entertaining light fantasy set in Las Vegas, where an evil nasty has trapped a bunch of faeries and forced them to perform in his blockbuster stage show of titular fame. Of course, this is killing the faeries, and draining energy from the land of Faery ... which will eventually lead to an energy imbalance that imperils the entire multiverse.
So our heroine has to overcome that, plus her hot sexual attraction to a decidedly-bad guy who happens to be working with the evil nasty, plus her growing love interest in her best-friend-info-geek (who has secrets of his own, of course).
And so on and so forth. Oh, and don't forget her little runt of an imp, with whose life hers is bound (if one dies, so does the other) and his own impish romantic life and secrets ...
It is weakened considerably by being a series book - it can't end with a real ending, it has to leave assorted things hanging to make the reader want to buy the next in the series.
I'm not one of those readers. The author writes decently enough, just, well - no substance. Like cotton candy, only less substance.

I haven't read a book by P.R. Frost before and I'm pretty sure I won't be reading another one. This book was slowly paced, the dialogue (especially in the imp sections) was stilted, and I couldn't buy into the 'romance' elements of the book at all. It wasn't all bad though. Things I did like included the author's take on Faery, demons, imp time travel and transformation of the celestial blade.
I was kind of disappointed in the emotional intelligence of the main character Tess. She starts off sleeping with a guy she knows is a scumbag, but she just can't help herself, then she stumbles over the real hero who happens to be her best friend. But he turns out to be 'oh, I'm in love with you but I can't end my marriage. the sex was great though, thanks!'. The whole thing is just a big ick for me so that is probably the main aspect of the book that turned me off.
I think the ending of the book was particularly weak and left me with no desire what so ever to follow up with any of these characters. Good bye. Good riddance.

I read this as part of the chronicles volume 2 which included this story, Faery Moon, and #4, Forest Moon Rising. This is set in Las Vegas and I really enjoyed not only the story but the tidbits of LV history at the beginning of each chapter. PR Frost did the same for Forest Moon Rising set in another city and that was equally enjoyable. New, additional characters are interesting. Learn more about the other beings, and Donovan, and Gollum. Tess' life is getting complex. Enjoyed watching her confront each challenge. Heartache is still there but she is also getting some answers she needs.

What the heck did I just read!? Granted, I did not realize that it was third in a series nor did I read much of the description. But, wow, oh wow! That was ridiculous! And not ridiculously good! It was weird, but okay up until the detail love-making scene between homo-sexual imps. That was just too much for me. However, I was invested in the story and felt that I had to complete it. Bits amused me here and there, but overall I would not recommend this book to anyone! I wish I could erase it from my memory and use the brain space for something more worthy. Sometimes you really can't judge a book by its cover, or even it's name. ( This one looked cool and I loved the name!) needless to say, I won't be searching for more books by this author.

Not my cup of tea. Standard romance formula with one lover who was raised by demons (living in Las Vegas) and who turns into a bat, and she is afraid of bats. Then the next lover who turns out to have a wife he really hasn't left yet. Meanwhile she is investigating all supernatural occurances in the area. And there are demon gates, and fairy gates to close. Oh her "familiar" is an imp who is a cross between Groucho Marx and Larry, Mo, and Curly.

Due to a family crisis and watching a DVD series that HAD to back to the library NOW! it took me longer to read this than normal, but it was still good. I love the trivia Frost puts at the start of each chapter. I am not sad to see the one character go here, though I feel I should, but said character annoyed me, so no tears.

This was a very slow moving book and at times hard to follow as I have not read the previous books in this series. Although the characters were entertaining and fun, the story line was one that I found slightly boring.

Finished all three of the Frost books in less than 2 weeks. More Uraban Fantasy/Mystery. Has imps fairies demons magic and a Warrior babe. Good read. Nice to curl up on a winter night.
