I really enjoyed this second book of poems by Paul Corman-Roberts, the poetry editor of Cherry Bleeds Magazine. Among my favorite poems was "Hack," which plays "hack driver" (as of a cab) vs. "hack writer." I also enjoyed "The Newer and More Improved America," clearly a central poem in this poet's performance repertoire. Doesn't every performance poet worth his salt have an "America" poem? I know I do. The anchoring images of commuting on BART and buses made this fellow Oakland writer's poetry especially, well, close to home for me.
