I loved this book! I bought it over 20 years ago on a trip to Paris at Galignani (an English language bookstore near the Louvre). I've carried it with me over numerous moves, and finally decided to read it. Thank goodness I held onto it!
The book is organized into nine walking tours of Paris. Each tour features numerous key Impressionist paintings from the area. Each painting includes a "companion" photograph of the same (or nearly the same) scene in modern-day Paris (or 1996 when the book was published). In addition to providing information about each painting and painter, the author also includes a wealth of history about each location. Featured art includes not only famous Impressionist painters (Monet, Renoir, etc.) but also some who briefly dabbled in Impressionism and many new-to-me artists.
I will definitely bring this book with me the next time I go to Paris, and hope to do at least one or two of the walks. This is an A for me, so five stars here.
