Dispatched to return fascist commander Col. Roberto Quesada to face the televised spectacle of trial in the United States, Able Team drops into the free-fire zone of El Salvador's Morazan province.
A Salvadoran army commando, obsessed with revenge for his " disappeared" father and brother, guides Able Team across a landscape of terror and atrocity.
Then a coded radio transmission from Washington, D.C. betrays Able Team. Battling against Stalinist assassins, the three North Americans pursue Quesada into the lost world of the Honduran mountains - where Pan-American Nazis are training the shock troopers of a New World Reich.
Able blitzes their way at to El Salvador in this classic style Able Team book. Lyons is still in a dark place after the death of Flor from the last book, but that won’t stop him from trying to track down Quesada, Unomundo’s South American leader.
It’s a fast paced book, with the boys getting right into the nitty gritty, dropping into a war zone that sees the country divided up into several factions, including Communist revolutionaries, crooked El Salvadoran armed forces, and just regular rebels trying to stop both groups.
Good old Able Team sides with the rebels, as they are the truly justified warriors fighting for the freedom of El Salvador, as they battle their way across the rainswept highlands of El Salvador.
They’re really milking Unomundo for all it’s worth in these early Ables, I was hoping for a little bit of closure since they’ve been after Quesada through a few books already, but other than crushing a training school for the terrorist group, the main baddies get away again.
Unfortunately for the members of the ‘Kill School’, they went up against the ones who wrote the g.d. textbook !
Able Team is sent to El Salvador to bring a Fascist leader back to the States for trial. They find evidence tying the bad guy into a larger Fascist conspiracy uncovered in a previous book in the series.
Eventually, Able Team has in infiltrate a fortress to nab the villain. This evolves into an intense, excellently-written action scene with the good guys crashing out of the fortress in a captured jeep.
The Fascist leader flees to ANOTHER hard site in Honduras. Along with a dozen allies and some air support, Able Team tries again to get inside. This leads to yet another great action scene, culminating in Jack Grimaldi (a pilot and reoccuring character in the novels) dropping huge bladders of gasoline on the fortress from a DC-3 while Able Team and allies make a run for it.
The team is in El Salvador going after Quesada ,a fascist commander, who got away from them before. They are to capture him and bring him to the States for public trial for killing Americans. However they have someone working against them by warning Quesada. They end up having to follow him into Honduras, to a base of Nazi terrorists full of hundreds of troops.
Recommended, G.H. Frost is one of the better authors of these and this one is also a solid read. Plenty of action and keeps your interest throughout.
The team is after an old enemy in this, the ninth book in the series. A trek down to El Salvador finds every manner of rebel and Salvador army squads fighting it out. There is a school for Pan American Nazis, Commies, and all sorts of sects that Able Team knock out.
I wish there was more of the school in this one. It comes at the end of the book. The action is intense and pretty graphic. Always a good read.
