Eurydice has a difficult decision to make-choose a brief but perfect love, foretold to end in tragedy, or resign herself to a pleasant partnership that could potentially last forever.

Not only does she find herself torn between two men, but also between a friend who would be hurt by one choice and gods who would be infuriated by the other. What's a poor Naiad to do?

You may think you know the tale of Orpheus and his lyre, but you've never heard it told like this, from the perspective of the woman who loved him, with an ending that will leave your heart singing.

Much better storyline and definitely a great read. I read the surrender of persephone first and that was more erotic. This was more romance and had a story to it.

So, I didn't know what the story was before I read the book, but considering what the authour can do with fairytales, I knew I wouldn't be disappointed

I almost went to the 5 star rating, but something held me back. 5 stars are books I readily and easily re-read, sometimes as soon as I finish, and this one set with me for a bit. I think it was our heroines fascination with Ari, but of course, that was needed, still, I liked her a little less. Now Ari's story, I want the authour to tell me that one, on how he will juggle his women!

Back to this one, Orpheus sounds (pun intended) like a dream, and I felt his pain, and hers, throughout their courtship, marriage and separations. The story, while taking place in ancient times, flows in a lovely fashion and I didn't have to google any terms, extra bonus points!

The sex is open, unabashed, and always under the surface. That should be expected in the timeframe of our story, and it is hot stuff. There is also lots of innuendo, which only adds to the story

In the end, this is a love story that transcends time, planes, and consciousness, and it is beautifully written and told, and hot, don't forget hotness

Angelique’s Review

“The Song of Orpheus” tells the heartbreaking tale of Orpheus, the Greek God of Music, and the nymph Eurydice. Ms. Kitt captures the emotion, both the pleasure of their love and pain of loss, in this wonderful book.

The story is teeming with characters from Greek mythology, both good and bad, who stay true to the history books. Eurydice has the playfulness of a nymph, but also the weaknesses of a woman. She is crafted so well on the page it is almost as if you could reach out and touch her. The songs of the music god are as clever as they are perfect.

In “The Song of Orpheus,” Ms. Kitt shows that death is only the beginning and that true love lasts for eternity. This tragic love story did, however, put me into a depression that lasted for several hours – so be cautious.

This is a really good story told with an erotic twist as only Selena Kitt can do it. I have loved every Selena Kitt story I have picked up and this is no exception! She is truly a master at adding just enough steam to make the story move forward and keep you interested without crossing the line to porn. I am always intrigued at how she builds her characters to the point where you feel like they are right there with you encouraging you to turn the page and finish their stories. This is an author I know that I can always turn to when I am looking for something a little naughty with enough of a storyline to keep me reading to the end.

Wow. I loved this story. Always one of my favorites from Greek mythology, Ms. Kitt skillfully takes the tale to a whole new level. The characters, Orpheus and Eurydice, were wonderfully drawn and their love depicted with such strength...pulled me in hook, line, and sinker, and made this such a fun read.

Story- Great
Characters- Loved them all
Sex- HOT!
Writing- Terrific

The story might not appeal to everyone, but it's one I will certainly reread and keep at the top of my shelf.

I wanted to be amazed. I kept wanting it to get better. I loved the characters and the plots. I thought the word choice and the sex scenes were stale. I found myself slogging through some parts. I loved my Greek Mythology class in high school but I plan to stick to books about people in the future.
