Amazingly comprehensive reference list. I was looking for more correlations between goddesses and specific animals - some were mentioned, but I’m not sure how exhaustive that aspect is. If you are looking to learn in-depth mythology and practices for each goddess, this book is NOT for you. Otherwise, as a database-like collection that is cross-referenced by several attributes, this book is absolutely incredible. I took this out of the library, but absolutely must get my own copy for reference. Huge gratitude that this book exists.
I think this is a great reference for anyone wanting to find goddess correspondence and short bios of each goddess. Great resource. Should belong on every witches bookshelf.
This truly is an excellent guide, and easily organized to see goddesses grouped in various categories. Are you looking for goddesses who manifest attributes of light and maiden? They are listed. Goddesses from various regions and cultures of the world? They're in there too. 80 goddesses are described in a paragraph which offer a springboard for learning more about them. I find that some internet searching rounds out their stories and offers a more complete view of the complexities of the divine feminine, a trait shared by all females and in need of exploration and acceptance of individuals and the world at large.
Brilliant book for anyone with an interest in goddesses. Particularly helpful if you want some background knowledge as only a brief description of each one is given. They are sorted into lists according to geographical region, colour, element, and attributes. Helpful for locating and categorising.
