Commerce

Rate this book
Commerce, Michael Phillips reminds us is not a moral system. It is more like technology and science. Many people appreciate the absence of morality in commerce, such as people who shop on the Sabbath. The absence of morality in commerce also offends people, among them those who abhor pornography, drugs and global trade. Phillips points out the positive qualities of commerce. Commerce thrives in diverse and meritocratic societies. Commerce brings negatives avarice and selfishness. This is a rare book --- a clear-eyed and dispassionate about the realities of commerce, past, present and future. No preaching.
