Talia has never felt that she belong somewhere, no matter what she did she never got a compliment from her parents. The only thing that matters to her parents is getting married and starts a family of her own, but Talia has other plans. Then she is kidnapped by monsters from her parent’s house and faces a horrible future. But surprisely she’s rescued by a gorgeous man with pointed ears. Talia cannot worry about that, the only thing that matters; is getting out of the Orcs cave.

Prince Calion Saralonde of the Calen’tour Elves cannot believe his eyes when he sees his enemies the Orcs, carrying a human female. It’s forbidden to ever take a human into their realm, and even though the humans are his enemy as well, he cannot let the Orcs have this woman. So he will save her and send her back to her own world.

But Calion couldn’t predict being attracted to this beautiful woman and although the Elves have a long-standing hatred for humans, he falls for Talia. So when Calion takes Talia back to his kingdom, they have to face the King.

Eyes of fire by C.J. England is the first novel in The Mylari Chronicles and I have to say it was a real surprise for me. The moment I start reading I was lured into this world and couldn’t stop reading, so it wasn’t a surprise that I finished the book the same day. I really enjoyed reading this novel.

From the moment Talia and Calion meet you can feel the sparkles between them, it’s clear they are attracted to each other. For Talia it’s clear, she belong in the Fae world, finally she feels at home, a feeling she haven’t felt in her own world. But Calion fights with ever power he has in him to stay as far away from her, it’s against their laws to get involved with humans and as heir to the throne he cannot risks having an affair with Talia. But he knows he has to take her with him to his father, they need to find out why the Orcs wanted Talia and are still looking for her. What is Talia’s connection with the prophecy they talking about?

This is a book with a lot of emotions in it, I often found myself wanted to scream against Calion to finally get a grip and take responsibility for his actions. The way Calion treated Talia while he tried to deny his feelings for her, only because he wanted to make his father happy. I totally admire Talia, the way she handle things, she loves Calion from the beginning and took every punishment or cruelty she got from the Kind, Elves and even Calion, because she knew it in her heart it would turn out right eventually.

C.J. England has created a whole world similar to the human world, but with different laws and species. The way she puts Talia down as a fabulous determined woman, who is not afraid to fight for her believing the struggles Calion had to embrace his love for Talia were overwhelming and sometimes frustrated to read, so she did a fabulous job.

I do hope C.J. England will write the other books soon. I cannot wait to read more of this series. If you love reading about magic and the fact that love conquers all, then this is the book to read.

Okey...
So I´m glad there are more books coming out with elf hottie heroes. Though I have´nt read one book to my satisfaction yet.
I had a hard time finishing this book. It's repetitive, fast paced and cliché when it comes to the special damsel who will save the world with her love...
At first I thought I would like Talia. But with her crying and moaning she managed to make my head burst with anger. Such a dull character. No depth. Simple. Her backround very weak. Just a damsel in distress I guess. There is not even depth in her type of power being usefull at all.
As for Calion, he his over the top hot prince. Very true to his beliefs. He becomes confused with breaking the sardai. What is forbidden. He fights his feelings for Talia all the way through the book. Which I respect completely. But he falls into the usual stupid heroe who deos not realize how in-love he is until its too late. Very cliché. He is strong and full of magic...A prince...yada yada...
Although I loved it when Calion turned beastly because of the fever...Goosebumps! Fantastic!
The world described is well written. I liked that she used the elf language to get me curious and swept by the meanings and the culture. I also liked Calions gaurds more than the main characters. Specially Orophin, the one who speaks less. I was very moved by those characters.
As for the rest of the book. I couldn't wait to finish it. Although it is well written. There is nothing new in this love story. I who love romance novels cannot give this book more than a 2 star...
I am truely sorry. I think C.J. England should make sure to exploit elven characters...Instead of making them fools just because a human is special due to a prophecy...I cannot bear it really.
That is my final say in this matter. I finished it. Though I do not regret reading it at all.
There is room for emprovement always. There are little elven male & human females romance books at this moment, and I think we should help it grow in this genre. Since it´s always the other way around...Like Aragorn and Arwen...So I hope in the future I can get to read something as moving.

Wonderfully unique romance with a twist on the world of Faeries and their relationship with humans. It even includes a taste of the erotic :-D Truly enjoyed this tale of fantasy and love. I loved especially loved the heroine, but thought the hero did not really deserve her! The hero was sexy and all, but just so stubbornly frustrating that at times I would have much rather saw her end up with someone else. It was a happily ever after in the end and that made up for all the angst, I guess. Definitely an author worth following.

The heroine in this book is pretty simple-minded, a bit of a baby, and mildly annoying. She cries at the drop of the hat, and is super gullible, almost childlike. Otherwise it wasn’t bad, but nothing to write home about.

Fun and Sexy Paranormal Romance

This was an enjoyable paranormal romance where a human girl falls in love with an Elf Prince.

The handsome Prince Callion rescues the beautiful human girl Talia from the dreaded evil Orcs and they form an instant attraction to one another that leads to a forbidden love affair. The prince is a bonehead at times, but can also be super romantic and sexy. I had a couple issues with him at some parts of the book and did not like his treatment of Talia, but he more than makes up for his idiocy.

The story was fun, full of action, romantic, sad and sexy as hell. I really loved it and would love to read more from this author.

This was a great fantasy read - although its frustrating to read a book KNOWING it's part of a series.. and then seeing the series has yet to continue. Ms. England; do you plan on continuing this series??

Loved it! I read this one a long time ago. I've never forgotten it. It is frustrating and beautiful. He's a prick a lot of the time but it's because he feels bad/wrong for wanting her. The world building is amazing. Well done!
