The sex scenes are hot, maybe 4 stars, but the romance, the characterisations is 2 stars, if that. Not fleshed out enough, plus dialogue unimaginative,not upto par.

He’s strong, commanding, kind, and devastatingly sexy. He loves and appreciates Clarissa exactly as she is, which made me eager to see the pair find their happily ever after with one another.
Filled with sizzling encounters that only get hotter as love enters the mix, Desert Surrender captivated me from the first page to the very last. Melinda Barron takes the reader on a heady ride in a well written game of risk where the only thing to lose is ones heart in the desert heat of Las Vegas.
Clarissa is a full figured woman and one who is bored. The men her mother chooses for her are nice but she hungers for something more. She wants excitement and when she meets Maddox her wish is fulfilled. Maddox Perry is a great character, a man with intelligence, power, and finesse. Clarissa Alexander is the best example of a rebellious, spoiled rotten brat. But the author skillfully reveals Clarissa’s intelligence thru the story as she and Maddox learn of a scheming family member.
What I especially liked was that Clarissa and Maddox are able to find true love inside and outside the bedroom. Clarissa and Maddox scenes explore BDSM and are exiting and steamy. As a new reader to modern erotica, I was impressed with Melinda Barron’s latest book.

This was a humour and light hearted story. Clarissa is the black sheep in the family and quite the bratty one too. I found her to be amusing and in need of a good spanking. Good thing she met Maddox who is quite capable to take her to task.
The dinner scene was hot and something I can't wait to try in real life. Some great ideas I want to run by my DH. The BDSM is light and fun. There is more D/s than anything else. I enjoyed Ms. Barron's characters who are quirky or masterful. I recommend for people who want to see a sassy sub be swept off her feet.

Not what I was expecting and though Loose Id says it's novel length, it seemed a bit short to me. The Heroine was louder and brassier then I thought she'd be, which was a nice surprise as most plus sized h's always seem so unhappy/insecure. The Hero on the other hand didn't seem to be drawn out enough for me to decide if I liked him or not.
There were some really, really really hot scenes in it though, and they almost make up for how quick the book seemed to go.
