Game of Serfs #1

Game of Serfs: Book One

Rate this book
It was supposed to be a fun break while school was out for the semester.

A chance meeting between Benjamin Draig and Martin "Marty" Ambrose suggests the potential for a great friendship. Both were with different groups of friends just outside of Moab, both on their way to hike through the mountains.

But then things went horribly wrong.

It’s all Benjamin and Marty can do to stay alive when the earth opens beneath their feet, and they’re swallowed by the mountain.

As a fire-spewing monster emerges and spreads its wings to blot out the sky, Benjamin and Marty learn that the comfortable illusion of the world they knew is gone.

Everything has changed. Depending on the other for every second of their survival, they reach what looks like safety…

…then their entire world comes undone.

The world beneath the mountain is impossibly huge, but the sheer size isn't the only thing that beggars belief.

As the titanic monster takes to the sky, leaving behind the lair that has lain buried for millennia, the two men know what they have to do.

They've got to brave the dangers of the dragon's lair and hope there's something to defeat the monster razing the country in fire and flames.

Otherwise, this new world is going to be a place where becoming a dragon’s dinner is the better option.

Real life DnD

I agree with the 5 star reviews that it is as if your reading a real life DnD, but it to real to life. The main character Benji complaining about not really enjoying being around people and just going along with stuff he doesn't agree with... 2nd ch new area new character rambling about there life in journalism then multiple pages on traffic to finally get to the Dragon he talks about in the synopsis it was too much filler and negative outlook on life. I'm letting this one go back to the shelves.

Very interesting change of pace Michael

But then you have been doing that since we first met. And I still can't imagine where you get all these really weird stories from.

Did I say weird? Well kinda, but they damn sure are fun. Here I am reading this new one on Christmas day 🤣🤯.

I'm really not sure where book two may go with this, but guess same thought ran through my mind after "Death becomes Her". Look where that went.

This was a fun reading story, kept me going right to the end. Not sure yet about Benji or Marcus, for that matter Elaine either. But after all this time I have learned to hitch my harness to you and just fuckihanging! on!

Thank you again and Merry Christmas my friend! Semper fi!

Wow! Wow! Wow! Just…. Wow!

Ok, I’m almost speechless behind how fantastic this novel is. Truly. This is Anderle at his better than best! It’s a phenomenal and realistic look at a completely unrealistic scenario. Well, I HOPE it’s completely unrealistic, in any event. God help us if it’s not. ***chuckles uncomfortably***

Honesty, this is the type of well conceived and deeply constructed storyline that I’ve come to expect from Michael. However, his writing has truly evolved to the next level; it’s his best work ever, IMHO.

My only regret is in taking so long to get around to reading it. I’ve already got the next book and am rushing to finish this review so I can dive into that one. Get this book! You won’t regret it!

Brilliant.

I sometimes think I owe Michael an apology; I read so many of his books and am well entertained but mostly, I just rate the books with stars then move on.

So Game of Serfs:
Once again Michael as put is unique twist into another brilliantly entertaining series. All the usual well drawn characters who develop through the storyline.

If you haven't got into Game of Serfs - you are missing out! Load up your Kindle (or other reader) and start reading now you wont regret it.

I'm well into book 3 but guilt drove me to quickly jot this down before going to work. Thanks again Michael for years of fantastic entertainment. Sorry I don't stop reading long enough to review more of your books beyond adding a star rating (most usually 5)

New heroes

Benjy, Marty and Elaine did not want to become heroes, but humans have never had to fight dragons before. I'm not sure how I would handle a dragon showing up and trying to take over the world, but hopefully I would react the same way the main characters in this book did. I very much enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the next one in the series.

D&D meets Present day

I loved it! Martha has toyed with dragons in present day on several occasions but hers usually have gold hearts and intentions. I loved this trip down the dark side. Great job Michael and as always thanks for what you do it makes a difference. If you're into dragons the way we grew up with them click read or buy. Michael has started a good one here

MA said it true..

This is not your typical Michael Anderle book! Very interesting twist on the dragon story and right now we have 3 heroes being pulled along in the wake of a modern-day dragon emergence. They are victims with the rest of the world, but they somehow keep pushing through to the next right thing. Reading on..!
