I was all those things.
Years after my parents died, I was still being bullied, and it was all led by my cousins.
They hated me for years as children, and moving into their house didn't make them change their minds about me.
I was counting down the days until I could finally get away from every single person in this town.
Until there was one person I wasn't so sure I wanted to leave.

Reid
My life since age 7 revolved around football and what it would take for me to get into the NFL.
I didn't have time for girls or parties.
I had never been tempted that could take my mind away from the sport.
Until I walked into my new school on my first day of senior year.
It wasn't long before we both realized that someone didn't like that we had found each other.

*Note from author*

While this high school romance does have elements of bullying, you will find that the hero never once says a negative thing to his girl.

For the safety conscious - this is guaranteed safe!

Just because it is set in high school doesn't mean it doesn't have adult situations in it. Only intended for those over the age of 18.

I'm with everyone else on this as there was much bullying going on against the Heroine and she just took it and didn't stand up for herself. She is weak and insecure and always leaned on the Hero to protect her. I would have liked it a lot better if she had stuck up for herself. 3 stars for the Hero, he was devoted and protected of her from the first time he laid eyes on her.

THE HEROINE HAVE TOO MUCH OF BULLYING AND EVEN PHYSICALLY BULLYING HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR SO MANY TIMES IN YEARS! IN SCHOOL AND IN HOME! THE HEROINE NEVER FIGHT BACK AND NEVER EVEN REPORT TO ANYONE ABOUT IT EVEN TO HER OWN FAMILY!!!! IN THIS HAPPENS LIKE HALF THROUGH THE BOOK!!!! VERBAL ABUSES TOO AND TOO FCKING MUCH!!!!!

I CANNOT EVEN FCKING CONCENTRATE TO THE ROMANCE BECAUSE THE HEROINE KEEPS TALKING ABOUT HER SAD BULLYING STORIES TO THE HERO AND HER NOT STRONG ENOUGH TO FIGHT BACK!!! I MEAN LIKE SHE SUFFER HEAD INJURIES AND DID’NT BOTHER TO TELL THE POLICE ABOUT IT OR MAKE A QUICK DECISION TO SAVE HERSELF BY RECORD IT WHAT HAPPENED AND BE AT PEACE???

ALSO HER UNCLE(the heroine’s lives with her uncle and aunt) her uncle said that she can see the heroine from the security camera on his house so he definitely can see she’s being injured couple of times from his kids but he said to the hero please take care of her and if not he will hurt the hero? Wtf is this. And no, not small injuries, BAD FCKING ONES….

THIS STORY IS TOO MUCH BULLSHT FOR ME BECAUSE OF THE TOO MANY BULLYING FROM MANY PEOPLE TO A WEAK HEROINE WHO HALF THROUGH THE BOOK JUST OKAY WITH IT AND BE WEAKER AND WEAKER… I MEAN I LIKE TO SEE A STRONG HEROINE WHO CAN FIGHT BACK SO I CAN READ AND LEARN A STRONG FEMALE WHO ONE DAY DECIDES TO DEFEND HERSELF IN FRONT OF THIS LOSERS!!!! BUT NOOO… THE HEROINE IS OKAY AND THE HERO HELPS BUT NOT HELPING HER ENOUGH!!!! DAMN EVEN HER BEST FRIEND IN SCHOOL SEES WHAT HAPPENS BUT DIDN’T HELP HER 100% LIKE A BEST FRIEND SHOULD!!! LIKE WTF

HER COUSINS THAT BULLIES HER SOOOOO BAD PHYSICALLY MENTALLY EMOTIONALLY, WHEN SHE MEET THEM AGAIN AFTER THE TROUBLE SHE WAS HAVING WITH SOMEONE ELSE, SHE APOLOGIZED FIRST TO THEM INSTEAD OF THEM FIRST!!!! WTF IS WRONG WITH THIS HEROINE IS SO STUPID!!!! THEY EVEN REPLIED SAYING DON’T YOU DARE BECAUSE THEY ARE BAD BLABLABLABLA AND SHE JUST SMILES AT THEM. WTF IS WRONG WITH HER💀 I HAVE TO SEE THE HEROINE BEING IN THE HOSPITAL TWO FCKING TIMES BECAUSE OF HER BULLYING PEOPLE WHO ARE SATANIC 💩💩 no they are not real satanic but i think and i label them as satan spawn for sure.

THE ROMANCE IS FCKING FANTASTIC ESPECIALLY HOW THE HEROINE AND HERO MEET FOR THE FIRST TIME AND HOW THE HERO FELT FOR THE HEROINE BEING THE ONE FOR HIM LIKE HE FELT IT TO HIS BONES THAT SHE IS IT FOR HIM. BUT FOR ME THIS HERO IS JUST TOO SELFISH FOR HIS OWN THAT HE CANNOT HELP THIS HEROINE ENOUGH… I HAVE OTHER HEROES WHO WILL DONE MORE JUSTICE TO THE HEROINE WHO HAVE BEEN HURT PHYSICALLY MENTALLY EMOTIONALLY LIKE THAT!!! THIS ONE IS SUCKS TBH.
LIKE THE BEST PART THAT GAVE ME A AWWW WHEN THE HERO IMMEDIATELY CLAIMS THE HEROINE AS HIS TO ANYONE AND TO HIMSELF SINCE THE SECOND HE MEET HER!!!! HE GRABS HER HAND AND HOLDS HER SO THATS GREAT!!!🥺 BOTH ARE VIRGINS TOO!

I don’t know if i can continue reading this book through the end of it because it has a great epilogue. But the first impression of the book? Sucks and annoying. I want to punch and plan a massacre to those bullies because YES IT IS THAT BAD!!!! 💩💩 WHAT IS MORE BAD IS THAT THE HEROINE IS SO MOTHERFCKING WEAK!!!!! 😰😰😰 LIKE COME ON! I LOST COUNT ON HOW MANY TIMES I SAY COME ON FIGHT BACK!!! COME UP WITH A IDEA!!!! USE YOUR BRAIN GIRL!!!! I WISH I WAS YOUR BESTIE NOW SO I CAN STAND UP FOR YOU!!!! I WISH I CAN BE THERE FOR YOU SO WE CAN MAKE THIS AWESOME PLAN TO BRING DOWN THOSE BULLIES BY REPORT THEM TO THE AUTHORITIES OR STEAL THEIR PHONES SO WE CAN FIND THEIR DIRTY SECRET AND THREATENS THEM WITH IT!!! 🤣🤣

‼️‼️‼️Yes in the end the the heroine and hero live happily in love with each other for sure. Forever and the next life. They got married and have kids and have a great future life together as a family. The heroine have her justice but TOO LATE AND TOO LONG AND TOO ANNOYING. I can’t even freakin believe that she forgive people too soon and too fast of what they done to her so extremely horrible.

‼️‼️‼️I REALLY DO ENJOY THIS BOOK. THEIR ROMANCE AND CONNECTION AND THEIR LOVE IS WHAT I NEED IN A ROMANCE NOVEL🥺🥺🥺 SO BEAUTIFUL AND HOT AND GREAT… I STILL HOPE AND WISH THE AUTHOR WILL DONE BETTER NEXT TIME BECAUSE THIS ONE IS GOOD TOO. THE HERO IS OTT POSSESSIVE JUST LIKE WHAT I WANT. BUT BECAUSE THE SITUATIONS LIKE WHAT I SAID ABOVE IS JUST VERY EXTREMELY DIFFICULT AND DISTURBING, I DIDN’T EVEN GIVE IT A 4/5 STARS. HOW CAN WE FOCUS ON THEIR ROMANCE WHEN THE HEROINE IS WEAK AND THE WHOLE SITUATION WITH HER BULLIES IS HORSE SH*T. ITS NOT EVEN FUN DRAMA AND LESSON LEARNING THING BUT ITS MORE LIKE SO MUCH NEGATIVITY…

🌐🌐🌐➡️↘️⬇️➡️This is my own personal thoughts and opinion about the book so if thats not sit right with you or you feel I’m not being fair blablabla, please know that everybody in this world have their own different things that they like and don’t like. It may not be the same thing with you but thats okay because i am my own person and you cannot control me or tell me what to do. For example; i put ketchup (tomato sauce) on my fried chicken. You think that’s disgusting? For me its not and i’ve been eating it like that for many many years. You tell me to put another sauce and see if i like that better? I already did many many times in years but i still like the way i like it. It’s called differences between me and you and billions people in this world😊 be open minded😙 I respect people’s opinions about my opinions but in the end of the day if i say I don’t like it or i do like it, its up to me and its on me. And in the end of the day i always liked and show my respect to books and people’s opinions on books whenever that book is good or not good in my opinion 😊 Respect people’s opinions guys😙😙 I don’t want to write this down because its not really my thing to do it. To like address something like this when obviously i know the people who’s been reading my reviews many times and all the time, they are smart enough to understand and respect other people’s opinions no matter what their opinions on book or their point of view 😙😙 am i right? 💕 also there are people even though i already write “this book is different because i have my own taste of book” those people still comment my taste is this and that when HELLO… everybody have their own thoughts on books and what they want to read… why i read it then? I read it and give it a review because i have to read a book to give it a review… why not read the description book to understand before I’m going to read it? Hello just in case you haven’t notice, description books can be tricky because they write this amazing things about a book but turns out the story is so toxic. Maybe for me its toxic but not for you? YES HELLO THATS WHY US HUMAN BEING HAVE OUR DIFFERENCES, WHAT I LIKE IT DOESN’T MEAN YOU WILL LIKE IT AND EITHER WAY TOO. why i still write the review then if i just don’t like a book? Because I CAN and i want to, you cannot tell me what to do and not what to do🤪 if you still wants to be negative and be karens about my review on book after all of what i just write, i will never acknowledge you and simply ignore you because its not that hard🙏 ⬅️↖️↕️⬅️↩️⤴️

DNF.

Was super excited for a DV story but jesus this heroine was really weak and pathetic. Also it's just constant bully left and right. Every new scene I was like oh great who's going to bully her now. Saw another review that mentioned how even in the end she was apologizing to her bullies ...like what? Wish she wasn't written to be Mother Teresa and with a lot more bite.

Bring back pettiness in books:

Forget the title, babe I'm crying for my sanity 😭.

Because what do you mean that the h was verbally and physically assaulted for YEARS by her cousins and people at school, only to end up easily forgiving and even APOLOGIZING to some of them 😃.

It made me so upset because why should you forgive and try to placate someone who does not have an ounce of regret in them? That immediate urge to make amends with someone who hurt you in that way usn't a sign of healing (in this case at least) its literally a lack of self-respect. And the fact that no one made her realize this? Crazy.

And don't even get me started on the h's uncle and that 180 he did in this story (the cousins as well)😭. You're telling me you neglected and completely turned a blind eye to the abuse your niece was facing under your care, but you suddenly feel this regret and think as if you're entitled to be a part of her life? And to blame your behaviour on marital issues? It was sickening 😭. How about you discipline your kids first 💀.

Those demons for cousins did not careeee in the slightest 😭. I'm actually going insane. To see them being forgiven after the traumatic things they put the h through? BYE. One of the cousins literally hit the h in the head with a racket and put it on her neck, but yes, let's just move past that and never address it again. But they were sad in the end, so it's okay 🥺.

Reading stresses me out lmaooooo.

All the above isn't to say that I hated the book 😭. I just couldn't come to terms with that part of the story. I actually liked the romance between the MCs, I just wish that some of the events had played out differently.

Well that is a few hours of my life I will never get back. And in all honesty I skipped from 20% - 75% and skim read the rest.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND. Talk about Insta lust - if I knew that I never would have read in the 1st place. But my god he literally saw her and went ‘yep she’s the one’. Like come on.
And can someone explain the whole ‘buddy’ nickname. Like really that’s just horrendous.
Wouldn’t waste your time reading this tbh.

Wanted to love this book but was hoping the hero was a bit more of a badass “I don’t give a fuck” loner type. Also I guess I’m not a very forgiving person and could not get behind the 180 behavior with the cousins at the end. All the scars and trauma she endured at a young age after her parents died…and we are supposed to believe that all is forgiven and the hero and cousin make an awesome duo in football?!?!?!🙄🙄🙄 That just didn’t work for me at all.

This damn weak ass heroine pissed me off more than the book even interested me . People treat you how you allow them to and she definitely allowed it . She never once fought back, or told even the school officials or police , etc … no, she was a damn stupid coward and this book was written it a way that was unbelievably hard to get into the romance when the bullying was constantly allowed and at the forefront of their relationship this h is too much of a coward. She didn’t deserve a story .

This will probably be my last football related book for 2021 -- not great, but not bad from a new-to-me author. A bit of high school bullying, a teenage once-in-a-lifetime love, and all the angst that goes along with the usual hot football star and the girl who lost her parents and now lives with the evil relatives. Another Kindle Unlimited I couldn't pass up -- but probably should have.

At first, I was entirely sure I'd be hating this book due to how unbelievable the events were. But by the time I was 30% in I didn't care what was believable, I was just having a good time.

I loved Reid and Paige story so much that I made myself stretch reading this book over a couple of days. I wanted to savor it. These characters felt like people that came into my life. Yes they are young but wise beyond the years.

Reid is more than a handsome face and football prodigy. He's the guy you'd want to be with because he makes you feel cherished. Paige needs that after her rude cousins, school taunts and feeling unworthy of love.

They made me smile and hold my heart. The adorableness is heartwarming. The bullies and stalker counterbalance so we have more than a cutesy romance, we have two young people who found love and had to let bad in to help them see that every up and down happens for a purpose. I received an ARC for an honest and voluntarily review.

All main characters’ interactions between other students and teachers is just telling them that they are taking a lot of AP classes.
WE GET IT. You guys are taking AP classes.

This book also felt weird. Like the heroine kept wanting pity from everyone idk.

Didn’t get very far…I read A LOT of romance novels and I’m not big on the whole instant romance thing. Personally, I like to see the two people progressively fall in love. It had a lot of potential. If it didn’t have the instant romance, I would have continued to read it. Sorry

Just.....

First impressions are everything. And The Paiges wasn't great. She was conceited and so full of herself right off the bat. Which doesn't sit well with her being bullied by her cousins.

You can't be a bully victim and be conceited, It doesn't make sense. And all the praising of her dead parents, as they were better and better looking throughout the book? No. Again, it was made to seem She was better in every aspect and still be a victim. There is a thing as being humble, and it was absent in this book.

She does rely heavily on Reid, and I loathe the insta love in this book. They said I love two days in. It made me cringe.

The detectives were crappy and uncaring. They didn't seem to grasp the concept of what was happening and just treated like nothing. I also doubt they would've allowed anybody else to search school grounds.

Overly detailed in some things, that wasn't necessary. Underdetailed in places that shouldn't have been.

Also, there are way too many epilogues.

The title doesn't fit this book either.

High school insta-romance between the shy and gergeous outcast Paige and new hot guy and athlete Reid.

I'm all for insta-love but here it just didn't work, that being said I wanted something easy so I carried on and I was curious to see how things would go. Hoping the potential I saw would unfurl as the book progressed. But the pacing of events and reactions didn't allow me to sink into the characters and story.

I was going to give this two or three stars but then the latter half of the book, where - yeah right! There was no logic to this character shift, it didn't fit and just annoyed me so very much.

Potential Triggers: Bullying, stalking and physical assault.

Holy heck this story was so so good😍😍 It made me feel all kind of emotions... it made me swoon, angry, sad, happy, crushed, gutted and sometimes everything all mashed together🤣🤣 Reid was such a sweet, caring and kind young man that fell for his woman at first sight and did everything for his woman. The whole story made you root for Paige and my heart bled for her. The dysfunctional family made me mad and sad. This story was fascinating and captured you until the last page. The HEA was well written and so much behavior made sense after reading the last pages. If you love DV high school bully (NOT HERO!!) stories with a HEA and suspense you definitely need to read this story. 😍😍😍😍😍

This romance is extremely emotional. It touches on some really tough topics. I really appreciate that the author did her research and handled the topics with such delicateness. Another thing I loved was the chemistry between Reid and Paige. It was so sweet. This book is full of emotions.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

12/27/22 - enjoyed this one. Disappointed that book 2 does not come out until March 25, 2023. I should have checked whether all the books were completed.

Wow. This was one book I just couldn't figure out if I liked it or not. I read it for the first time a few days ago then I read it again to figure out how I felt. And what I realized is that it left me disappointed. And pissed me of at some points and literally left saying wtf. Now don't get me wrong, it's a good book that is well written with hardly any grammar mistakes. Also, I liked the writing style and ultimately I liked the main characters (kinda).

The one thing that pissed me off the most was the fact that Reid didn't stand up for her or stand up for her in the way I wanted him to. For a guy that claims he will protect his girl and be there for her, he didn't do it that well. When Jason (heriones cousin) was bullying her after she got attacked, what did Reid do? Nothing, he just squeezed her hand and just sat there. He didn't even say stfu. And that happened more that once. Where someone is bullying Paige and all he does is squeeze her hand and don't do anything. Like I was expecting him to cuss them out and wup Jason's butt lol. Maybe the book I read shortly before this one effected how I saw this book. I read the Beauty and the Outcast by Lucy Darling and I was kinda expecting this one to be similar. I was expecting the hero to protect the herione extensively like I've come to expect from certain authors. And when Reid didn't do that, I was just left disappointed and didn't feel how fiercely he said he loved her and would protect her. I'm putting aside the fact she didn't stand up for herself because if you are getting severely bullied at school and home, then I'm going to assume it's hard to stand up for yourself. Especially when you really don't have anyone there for you.

The other thing that bothered me was the fact Reid didn't shut down advances to him from ow like I thought he should. Jessica was literally throwing herself at him, before and after he got with Paige, and instead of being rude and standoffish to her, he was polite almost. Now, I get being raised with manners and wanting to be polite but come on. Jessica was being disrespectful and mean to your girl and you are worried about being polite?? Don't get me started on Jenna. She made your mom believe yall were together and you didn't call her out on it. And not only that but she legit bullied your girl and you were still being relatively friendly with her. I'm I the only one wanting him to cuss someone out for bullying Paige. Are you not going to stand up for your girl at all?

And why, seriously why was the verbal and physical bullying from the cousin's so easily forgiven? Like all the cousin's did was offer a lame apology and that was it. The whole school bullied this girl for 4 years and it was like it was all forgiven and forgotten. I don't know, I was just left sorely disappointed and underwhelmed when it came to how that was dealt with.

I don't want it to seem I'm just hating or ragging on the book. Because it had some good parts. There were points in the book where Reid showed me he was the possessive alpha I wanted. And I loved they were dual virgins. There were points where I said awww and thought they were cute. Also, I think Reid and Paige were really good for each other and had some really sweet moments. I liked the writing style so it was an easy read for me. Overall, the parts I liked and parts I didn't like equaled each other out so I gave it 3 stars. If you don't mind the stuff I talked about then I'm sure you will love it.

I really enjoyed this story. I met R Sullins over the weekend and we had a conversation about her journey writing this book and how she then adjusted it to also publish a version that was appropriate for teenagers. This is a story about bullying among other things and I find these low ratings out of place purely because the FMC did not stand up for herself. These are children in difficult circumstances who may not have the confidence or support to stand up for themselves. In the end, she did. When bullying is happening to young kids, the outcome can be so many different things. I really loved the character growth and the slight element of mystery in this one!

I had many problems with this, but I managed to finish it, so there’s that. I liked the hero, I liked how protective and sweet to the heroine he was. But the heroine… She was so weak and annoying. As soon as he came, she completely relied on him to protect and save her. It would’ve been fine if he supported her and helped her get stronger and stand up to her bullies, but he just took all the responsibility and left her bee weak and pathetic. He did everything for her, he spoke for her.

I didn’t really like the heroine’s best friend. If she wanted then to hang out, she could’ve called and made an effort, not just waited on Paige and made her feel guilty. After Paige was attacked, one of many times, she thought how she didn’t remember to call her friend. If she was really her friend, she should’ve at the very least called her, and came to see her.

Also, the way the adults talked to the kids was weird. They kept calling Reid young man. And It’s always funny and cringey to me when older people try to sound like teens. There was this sentence in Reid’s POV that was so cringey. “I had jacked off, of course, I was a teenage boy”. I don’t think any teenage boy thought to call himself a teenage boy. Also, most people don’t use punctuation when they text, especially younger people.

The heroine was also bitchy and jealous for no reason. She wanted to get into a fight with a younger girl for having a crush on Reid. He was a football player. And she said to the girl that she shouldn’t wear another woman’s man’s jersey because it’s disrespectful. It just made her look even more insecure, stupid, envious and weak than she already was. Not to mention that every girl except the heroine and her best friend was a mean, jealous and bitchy. She even had a mean stepmother and stepsister who were so jealous of her beauty.

This could’ve been pages shorter because it was so repetitive, and so many things were said in many different ways and stupid, unnecessary things were explained. It looked like there was a word count that needed to be fulfilled, so they added totally unnecessary stuff.

Cry for me….. no more

A sports/ high school/ bully/ romance
Paige had a beautiful upbringing, loved by her parents, until they were taken away so tragically, she was then moved across country to be with her uncle and there family.
A place where she was meant to feel loved, protected and safe turned out to be her worst nightmare when she suffered constant bullying by her cousins Jessica and Jason, and her peers at school. But she learned to deal with it, not letting her bring her down.
And then Reid enters the picture and everything changes for her. Reid knew Paige was the one for him at first sight, he pursued her and claimed her as his girl. Paige has to learn to trust her heart and her feelings, and finally accepted Reid as her.
There relationship blossomed, as they navigated life, school, sports. They took there time with each other, learning about each other’s lives and heartbreak.
Not once did Reid ever speak bad about Paige, he defended her character, ensuring she never spoke down about herself.
On the home front, Paige’s uncle suspects what has been happening under his roof, and is ashamed that he let it go on for so long, and when he comes to the realisation of what his marriage has become life, his wife walks away, good riddance!
But there is someone that isn’t happy about there relationship and is going to lengths to break them apart, hurting Paige in the process. And when the truth is revealed, and Paige has finally healed and those that had wronged Paige from the beginning, apologised, it couldn’t have been more bittersweet.
This story has it all family (especially Reid’s parents!), friendship, romance, jealousy, bullying, stalking, mild violence, laughter, suspense, twists, truth and love.
I enjoyed this story it was definitely heartwarming , this author knows how to write.
Paige and Reid have a love like no other, and the love they have for each other, the steamy scene they shared was beautiful and had all of the feels especially there happily ever after, they are the best!

Wow this book was amazing

This book totally wasn't what I thought it was going to be. It was so much better. Paige is an orphan who lives with her aunt and uncle and her twin cousins who torment her and make her life a living hell. But then on the first day of senior year the new guy Reid sees her and knows from the first moment that she is the girl for him. This is the point where I thought this story would be filled with insta love and cute moments. These things were definitely a part of the story but there was so much more. Someone else is trying to hurt Paige and claim that Reid belongs to them. What follows definitely kept me guessing and completely hooked. There may have been a moment where there were tears.
