Stephanie Galay is a life-long resident of British Columbia and currently resides on the edge of a forested wilderness in the Okanagan Valley with her husband and their cats.

After suffering a nervous breakdown in 2012 she realized she wanted to be a professional writer. She quit her study of numbers, and though still working full time, Stephanie finally released her first novel, EVERGREEN, after working on it, off and on, for nearly 25 years.

Stephanie is currently working on a dark comedy/light urban fantasy trilogy, Bubbles and Augers. She is also working on Trapped, a stand alone urban fantasy/supernatural homage to one of her favourite songs, Hotel California.

Stephanie has always had a fascination with the Dark Side, the paranormal, and the Occult and hopes that one day her speculative fiction work will truly scare the pants off people and earn her the title "Queen of Horror".

I really enjoyed this story. it has all the action a reader could want, a mystery, a bad guy demon, and more.
You immediately get pulled in by the action, and the flashbacks seamlessly show what came before. The characters are engaging, and you really care what happens next.
I love when a story reads like a movie, and this one sure fits the bill! (although a prequel and more about Deanna's family would be great, thx ;) )

Opening with a race against a caustic fog, Stephanie Galay's debut novel Evergreen seethes with dark tension and demonic dread. After an unexplained and horrific single-car accident, Liz Porter returns to the hometown she fled to bury her parents and is immediately beset by revived grudges, rekindled friendships, prophetic nightmares, and literal reopened wounds which all suggest the demon she thought laid to rest five years before has returned. If you like your thrillers tinged with the threat of nicotine, lost love, and the supernatural, Evergreen may just be for you. It's a homecoming like no other.

I really enjoyed this book. It had me hooked from the beginning. I loved that I had questions while reading, which, like the layers of an onion, got answered, or at least slightly answered, but then I had more questions. The descriptions were excellent, and I could clearly picture the setting and events in my head. I am not usually a scary book person, but this was really enjoyable. I will admit the last few chapters took me awhile, because I needed to put it down to take a break from the suspense and let the plot rattle through my mind before returning to it. Will definitely recommend.

Lifelong friends, estranged by tragedy, must come together to battle the demon who ruined their lives five years ago. A nice touch of mystery in a horror/supernatural saga.

Evergreen by Stephanie Galay is not a typical fiction story. The elements of romance, long lasting friendships and life dilemmas nicely intertwine with petrifying events. It is hard to believe that this novel is Stephanie’s debut, since both, language and plot itself resemble those of well-established writers. It feels like the author truly found her voice as she managed to keep a non-fiction reader like myself, captivated. I found it hard to put this book down. It engaged my imagination and ignited my natural curiosity until the very end.
I highly recommend it.

The instant connection with the characters allowed me to join the journey to battle evil. The author captures the raw emotions entwined between friends copying with tragedy, past and present.

Captivating and well written. A story that mirrors life’s struggles and the resulting consequences of the choices made.
