Bought this book 3 days ago and just finished it. If there is a key to happiness, life, goals, etc. it is in this book. The subconscious is a powerful friend that I feel everyone should read about. :)

This is not a book I would usually read.

I was listening to the Richer, Wiser, Happier podcast, hosted by the author of the book with the same name. His guest was Arnold Van Der Berg, a Holocaust survivor which faced many difficulties in life, but still ended up a successful money manager.
On the episode, Arnold explains that what made him succeed through everything was the power of his mind. And at the end of the episode, he makes a recommendation for this book. He said that of all the books he's read over the last 50 years about the subject, this is the most practical and to-the-point one.

Hearing this from such an inspiring person was very helpful in making me read it with an open mind. This is a prerequisite for reading the book.

Having said that, not all exercises in the book worked for me. Others were too "out there" even if I tried to keep an open mind about it. But the main ideas still stuck and I think it would be foolish of me not to give them a try. Here they are:
- the subconscious mind is always working behind the scenes on a problem (actually on many at the same time), whether you are aware of it or not - so you can use this to help you improve any areas of life you wish - health, self-esteem, wealth, career, etc.
- you can seed ideas to your subconscious when your brain is in a relaxed state (alpha and theta) - you can enter these states when going to sleep/getting up, or by doing some exercises explained in the book
- the subconscious lies in a more "primitive" part of the brain, so using images and emotions helps seed the ideas better
- it doesn't distinguish reality from fiction, so you can use your imagination to boost the ideas you are seeding
- it knows only the present tense, so always think like you already achieved what you desire - e.g. if you say "I will be healthy", this means that currently, you are not healthy.

I'm eager to try some of the exercises in the book and hope that I'll be doing them for at least a year or two in order to see if I start getting any results. After that, I will be able to give the book a rating as well :)

One of the best books I read on subconscious mind and its abilities. This book extends the ideas presented by Maxwell Maltz in his book Psycho-Cybernetics.

This book one of the few books that you can't put it on the shelf and forget about it. I read it 3 times and I will read it again and again.

The author forewarns that most of the book contents are copies of other persons material. I did find that MANY pages could have been eliminated; each lesson ends with a lengthy description (what one should perhaps read)of what to suggest/tell your subconscious mind whilst in the Alpha state. I didn't like treating the subconscious as a "person"...thanking it, praising it, etc. I did like the fact that I didn't have to read the last chapter...it was on prayer.

I was able to pick up a few ideas and to re-affirm others. A few interesting anecdotes of dealing with and understanding the subconscious mind. I did expect more.

"The Genie Within" is an inspiring guide to harnessing the power of the subconscious mind. One of the most compelling concepts in the book is the idea that “the subconscious mind does not distinguish between reality and imagination.” This powerful idea helps explain how our thoughts, whether positive or negative, influence our actions and outcomes. The author emphasizes that by consciously shaping our thoughts, we can train the subconscious to work in our favor, turning positive thinking into an effortless habit.

The book introduces methods like visualization and affirmations, explaining that these practices can influence our lives in subtle but profound ways. It also highlights how the subconscious mind is constantly at work, even when we aren’t aware of it, making it crucial to feed it with empowering thoughts. Although some of the ideas may feel idealistic, they challenge readers to expand their thinking and embrace the possibilities of change.

Ultimately, "The Genie Within" is a motivational read that offers practical tools and actionable takeaways. It encourages readers to reprogram their minds for success, fostering a mindset that supports personal growth and fulfillment. For anyone looking to tap into the vast potential of their subconscious, this book is a worthwhile read.

This is one of those rare books which delivers what the title is saying: this book is about the subconscious and how you can use it. I think it's very humble of him to say all the information in the book is not new and that's probably true but he delivers it in such a way I still found a few nuggets. The chapters are easy to read and you will probably finish the book faster than expected. For those who read books like the secret and other popular LOA books, this one continues on what a lot of other books have left out. How the subconscious influences us and how we can work with it. Most books don't even talk about the subconscious because that would mean we need work on ourselves instead of magically waiting until our dreams come true. Because of the easy format I would recommend it to anyone who's new to reading about the subconscious mind.

I like how they made it so affordable so a lot of people can read it, and it is made short so it’ll not be overwhelming to readers’ minds (because the contents and ideas are). The key to living the life you want is in this book, but reading and knowing the ideas of this book is not enough, you have to dig in and take action. You have to know what to do, make practices and plans, change habits etc.

Might look and sound cheesy but it was very well done. I liked reading because the author has had a lifelong passion for understanding his field. He seems to have a knack at presenting the information in a way that promotes retention-go figure. He often sounded like an excited kid which might be lame to some but came across as endearing to me.

This is an interactive book that requires a small time commitment to do the exercises. While I did find some real benefits and deep truths, there was also a fair amount of what I considered wishful thinking. Maybe I'm just not doing it right ... Anyway, despite that, I did like this book very much.

Everything it said it would do

I am reading several of these law of attraction books at one time but this is the first one I started and by far the most informative of the bunch I am still working through. I have started using these laws and I have made major positive changes in my life. I highly recommend this book. I will revisit my notes often, I am sure.

Best book to exist

Most helpful and best book i’ve ever read, and will ever read. There’s no fluff, just straight up information written in a very clear and easy to read and apply fashion. Information to revolutionize your life. If you only ever read 1 book in life, this should be it.

The writing style is very simple and easy to follow for the average joe like me. The concepts presented are very relatable, especially when compared to anecdotal experiences ; everything makes sense. Highly recommended if you want to have a better understanding and unlock the potential of your mind.
