Two minutes—that's all it took. One minute she was right beside me, and the next minute she was gone.
I didn't want to go to Demon Cove, an old graveyard on the edge of Addington, but my younger sister insisted.
She was invited by one of the Leroux brothers and was fearful about going alone, and now I'm here, feeling my way in the dark, searching for my lost sister.
Yeah, I know my sister is prettier and braver than I am, and I know she's a favorite with all the jocks, but being a wallflower has one benefit. I can move about in their circle without them noticing me, gathering evidence until one day I'll strike when they least expect it.
The three handsome brothers—twins Austin and Xavier, and older brother Aaron—know what happened to her, and I won't stop until I find her. Even if that means becoming a sacrificial lamb. Even if that means swallowing my pride and playing their dangerous games.
The Henchmen is a dark, gritty, enemies to lovers, reverse harem romance series, meaning the FMC will have more than one love interest. The Main Characters are in their early 20's. Single POV. Three book series set at Addington University.
Author's note: This series contains bullying, fighting, cussing, violence, murder, explicit sex scenes, and drug use. Ends on a cliffy.
Super Annoying FMC and Weak Relationship Development
I finished it because I wanted to find out what happened to her sister - spoiler alert you learn nothing the entire book - but it was such a frustrating read. The FMC is naive and not in an endearing way and acts so insecure and foolish over Xavier without the author showing us any reason he was worth the fascination. Their relationship also starts before the book starts so it felt like I had no understanding of the appeal on either side and so felt shallow and forced. The other brothers were more interesting because of the mystery, but Em’s lack of self respect and pathetic behavior was a total turn off and aggravating. It was also so obvious her sister hadn’t gone to Cancun and her lack of interest in following up on her missing sister most of the time didn’t make sense for a responsible older sister. She cared more about her love life than her sister. Also, if a sorority girl went missing with a fake trip to Mexico, this would be a news bonanza and it seemed like there was absolutely no attention from something that would get a lot of publicity and on campus support.
Mister Mysterios' will have you hooked! Storyline is intriguing not predictable! The editing is atrocious. And I am so over the purposeful stretching of a 2 book duet into a 3 book series. Seriously, I would rather pay to read a duet than read for free and wait around for the 3rd book to finally publish. Why would anyone want to wait months for a book that you will finish in one day?
Well, I was not expecting that ending at all. I started this book after reading The Huntsmen, and I’m just as hooked on this one as I was these. Emaline is such a breath of fresh air for a FMC, and I feel like she’s coming out of her shy shell. I can’t wait to see what happens next with her and the guys, and her sister.
As the saying goes..if P.Mulholland writes it, I'll read it. I've read the Huntsman series so I was curious about what the story is about their rivals Laroux's. This story starts with Emaline, a geek knitter and Shakespearean enthusiast and her missing sister.. Her contact with the Laroux brothers is somewhat sporadic, but getting more interesting, I am very intrigued by how everything will connect. The spice is medium to low for those keeping count. So over all a great start, I am more than intrigued to find out what happens next with Em and her men.
Disappointed. The last series based at the same university was so fast paced and so good. I found this one to be dragging in areas and had problems staying tune to the story.
