Rate this book
When Felicia Schwarose’s engagement to the crown prince is broken off due to false charges, you’d expect her to be torn to pieces...but instead she’s jumping for joy! She may have been reincarnated as the protagonist of an otome game, but she wants nothing to do with high society. Thus, she becomes Fii Crow, a humble commoner earning her daily bread at a village bakery. All’s well that ends well? Not yet—the game’s love interests just won’t leave her alone!

Can Fii clear up misunderstandings, avoid triggering romantic (and dangerous) events, and get everyone out of her hair so she can live the peaceful commoner life of her dreams? Witness the story of a former noblewoman who won’t sit by and wait for happiness to come riding in on a white horse!

I really enjoyed this, but an cautiously optimistic with how it’s going to go… I’ve gotten my hopes up before, just to have them dashed horribly. I will get the next volume when it is out and hope that it is just as good, or better, than the first volume.

It’s looking like it might go yuri, which I am fine with and would honestly be an interesting twist if it does go there, as she seems to have no interest in any of the male love interests.

4, please don’t end up sucking, stars.

Otome game? More like no-tome! Fii’s been reincarnated as the heroine of her favourite game, but is well disillusioned with the idea of romance and wants to go bake bread in the village. Which sounds easy, except all her would-be suitors keep getting pulled into her orbit…

By the time Fii has literally thrown something in the face of one such would-be suitor, I was pretty completely won over by this well-meaning and well-executed entry into a genre that is now almost as crowded as its original parent.

Fii just wants to be left alone and that’s a sentiment many of us can wholeheartedly embrace. She gets booted out of the nobility, loses her engagement, and takes up baking. There’s no big romantic drive here, thus far, just the urge for a peaceful existence. Her life is perfect and complete.

But games are gonna game, and, whatever the reason, the system appears to be out to course correct on her efforts to completely fob off her destiny. Naturally this leads to a lot of problems and pretty boys invading her space.

Well, in theory at least. Fii’s very clever, but seems to be ignoring the fact that by avoiding all these flags she might just be forging her own route to various hearts. It makes for some good comedy at least; some of these suitors are very ‘of a type’ shall we say.

You can’t ask for much more than a winning heroine and some good laughs and both are in abundance throughout. The art is quite decent, but especially gets the comedy parts right. There’s at least one memorable moment when her meddling boss throws Fii out on her ear (I’m still chuckling about that image) and plenty of goofing around with an especially clumsy nun.

The story really reminds me of The Savior’s Book Cafe in Another World, but slightly more urgent, inasmuch as it involves a character who genuinely just wants to have a peaceful life without getting drawn into any hassles. The big difference being that Fii definitely doesn’t want a guy in her life (possibly a nun though…).

I think genuine sums this up, really. There’s an earnest fun to the whole business that sets it apart from a lot of its ilk. Any story that sees the pseudo-incest coming a mile off and mocks it as adroitly as it sidesteps it is definitely getting in my good books.

It feels like everybody here wants to be doing this, not just aping a trend (though they very much are), and that helps it shine through a lot of similarly coloured nonsense that clogs up my weekly buy list looking for attention. There’s very little that makes me think the original work would be better than this either.

If you’re dead sick of these types of manga, this might not convince you, but parts of it are so fun that they just might. This manga is very fond of double-acts and I appreciate that little breath of fresh air too. Yeah, the guys are of a trope - I really do like the dynamic Fii has with the first guy and his bread habit though - so there isn’t a ton new there. But it does well with it.

4 stars - if I had to sum this up in one word, it would definitely be ‘enjoyable’. There’s a zest for what’s going on, a smidgen of mystery, plus a winning heroine and some wacky suitors, that make it stand above many, many competitors.

4.5 stars. This book is my jam, but I haven't completely sussed (is that how you spell it?) out the hero yet.

This is an interesting start to a series.

For this series, the main female protagonist doesn't want to become Queen. Instead Rose wants to live her life free of the burdens that could be placed on her as queen. She enacts a plan that successfully allowed her to live as a commoner.

However, things don't always goes as planned and people are still showing up in her life. I can't wait to see how she deals with them in the next volumes.

Rating: 4.4/5.0 🌟
(finished the whole manga)

It's good, the plot was quite intricate. It might've been because of mc's trauma and her views in the world she reincarnated in, that's why everything became complicated. It's more on historical, mystery, and drama than on romance though.

Another thing too is that I've read plenty of reincarnation stories so it was a little predictable, except for the ending of course. ;)

Ehh, it was fine. The last few chapters went way off from the setup of the first few, so the story felt disjointed and kind of like it couldn't decide what genre it wanted to be. I liked Fii, but the love interest(s?) were boring and the story overall wasn't very engaging. Won't continue the series.

The artwork is mid tier. The plot is a mix of expected genre tropes. Transmigratory protagonist hoping to shatter death flags and break away from expected fate of the otome game. While not the most original or compelling, it is a fine starting entry. Feelings will come from how things play out in the future.

Amusing Read

I enjoyed it despite the clique set up. I found the main character amusing, and smarter than the main characters usually are for this type of novel. She is still somewhat naive, but her choices are logical for the type of life she wants to live in this world.

I loved it! I love Fii and how she’s really strong, takes things positively and is enjoying her life as a commoner. I really like Prince Nika, he seems like a very nice guy and I think he’s worried about her, also her half brother is kinda weird and Mel seems to be nice!

I’ve read volumes one and two already, so this is for both. Cliché isekai moments with her inner monologue being like Lizzie McGuire (which is funny). Lots of stuff to look forward to!

A fun beginning to a potentially quirky, delightful story

I'm finding this isekai refreshingly fun. This reluctant heroine actively fights off each of her otome suitors' event flags with a determined diligence that is quite comical. I look forward to seeing how she continues her journey and if she ever finds love.
