Years ago, I read in Exodus about how God provided manna for His people each day. One morning soon after, I was saying the Lord's prayer with my children. When I said, “give us this day our daily bread,” it stood out to me. Although this reference relates to physical needs, I believe it also pertains to spiritual needs. I feel God wants to give us spiritual manna every single day. Each day He has something to reveal about Himself.
“Reflections” comes from a journal that I began writing so I wouldn’t forget these daily treasures. I wanted to be able to come back to them and reflect upon God’s goodness. I have not yet mastered all these truths. I am still very much a work in progress. But I know that God is developing my relationship with Him.
I pray that you will be blessed and encouraged by these devotionals. I hope that over the next 31 days, you will discern and reflect upon what God might be saying to you. I also pray that this devotional will be a source of encouragement and inspiration as you continue to grow in Him.
Valerie grew up in small southern towns. She was blessed to come from a culture where life revolved around Jesus and family. She always had a vibrant imagination and enjoyed all things media related. As a young adult, she attended Lee University where she majored in telecommunications. After college, she enjoyed a successful career working as a video editor. She has worked for both local networks as well as a national entertainment network. During this time, she met and married Steven.
After getting married, she continued working until she was blessed with her first child. After becoming a mother, she found that her heart’s desire was to be a stay-at-home mother and wife. Since making that decision, she and Steven have become the proud parents of four biological children, two adopted children, as well as serving as foster parents.
While her first loves will always be God and her family, she has never lost her passion of crafting an engaging story. She hopes to turn her stories into series that will take her readers on an entertaining journey of romance and spiritual awakening. She hopes her writing will bring both an escape from the world’s daily problems and a testimony of God’s goodness, love, and grace.
