Falling in love with your first... like it's the first time...
All twenty-one-year-old Sadie wants is to remember, but her unexplainable amnesia makes that impossible. Her boyfriend was her only support system, but after he drowned a year ago, she's had to find other ways to cope - which includes the unhealthy habit of overdoing it on her prescription Xanax. But when Sadie uncovers that her roommate had been sleeping with her now-dead boyfriend, her toxic routine is thrown for a loop, leaving her with no other choice but to move out. With nowhere else to go, she calls on a long-lost friend for help.
Liam Harper was her older brother’s best friend – and is much hotter than she remembers. Their relationship progresses after Liam offers Sadie a place to stay due to her sudden move, but she can’t seem to shake the feeling that he’s hiding something from her. When the truth is revealed, Sadie is faced with the ultimate betrayal, and is left to confront the real cause behind her memory loss all on her own.
"For those who have hope, and for those who have lost it."
I was not sure what to expect when I started reading this book. I knew that I needed it based on the soul fact that I was in-love with the cover. The cover was how I pictured the main characters.
The story packs several punches. Not just regular, "aw the poor main character punches," its gut wrenching, heartbreaking, want to hold the characters and tell them everything will be okay while you cry with them punches. The cast of characters are amazing and easy to relate to. You want to be their friends and hang out with them all day long. The stuff that they go through is rough, heartbreaking, but told in such a way that you feel like they are real. The writing of this story was done beautifully. The topics that the author discussed where cover in a way that I have never seen before and it was refreshing. I can't wait to read more from this author. *Please check your trigger warnings* as heavy topics such as eating disorders, abuse, gaslighting, and etc are discussed.
Wow. Just wow. This was... has left me... Speechless.
I can count on one hand how many books have made me cry, laugh, feel the hurt, and truly make me feel I'm a part of the story. This put one more finger up for me.
This novel by Joanna Hans consumed my life for 12 hours. I couldn't put it down, I had to find out how Sadie, Georgia and Liam stories ended. This novel covers several topics others don't dare talk about. It was so authentic, pure, truly amazing to see 3 people overcome such tragedy in their pasts, deal with demons currently in their life and for a whole family to realize they had to change.
I read an ebook version, but I HAVE to have a hard copy, I can't wait until I can have this in my hands and put it on my bookshelf. A great read and I can't wait to see what else Joanna comes out with 💕
I received an ARC copy in return for my honest review of this book. I was instantly hooked upon reading the first few pages . I absolutely Loved Liam and Sadie, you can feel their chemistry oozing out of the pages. I was literally screaming when they figured it out and gave them a chance! I absolutely adored them. I loved these characters !!! I did feel so sorry for Georgia just wanted to hug her I was literally in tears over her! Their story and everything they overcame was incredible they all went through so much. The Harpers is Such a great book I finished it in one sitting. I did not even want to put the book down, it was so beautifully written and such an amazing story. I highly recommend!
I can not wait to read more from Joanna Hans in the future 🤍
With an original and unique storyline it kept me interested. I found myself unable to put it down, because I needed to know the truth about Sadie's accident. Rest assured, you will get answers and I must say I was definitely surprised! There was a bit of mystery, angst and a bit of steam. There were a few sensitive topics discussed, but I thought the author did a great job with that. Overall, I really enjoyed it.
I really liked the writing and the story,I just Didn’t like that he had sex with someone else while in love with her but I still liked the story, still I hope there is a second part to learn more about the other characters I feel that there a few story lines that could be explained, but I really liked the book,I will read another book by this author.
This is one of those books that has you hooked from the first page until the very end! Once I started reading I found it hard to put down. This story line was so greatly written along with each character. This book made me feel so many different emotions. I loved it!!
The Harpers is incredible emotional journey. This book pulled me in from the first chapter. To see all that Sadie and Liam goes through and come out on the other side is remarkable. Their journey will bring you on emotional rollercoaster. Definitely one book I would read again.
This book had me absolutely hooked from the beginning. I love how real the author got about difficult subjects that so frequently get passed over by others, especially to do so in a way that was so relatable/enjoyable. Read this in one sitting because I couldn’t put it down!
First off, let me start by saying Georgia Harper is one of the best characters I’ve come across in a very long time. She made me laugh, she made me cry, she made me want to jump inside the book and give her a much needed hug. I love Georgia and Sadie’s friendship, it’s so wholesome and sweet and at times made me cry!! That aside, Liam Harper is an absolute dreamboat. He is so damn loving and sweet and can I get one of my own?!?! Lol This is definitely a slow burn romance but every aching page was so worth the read and the steamy build up at the end. I hope this author comes out with a part two because I’d love to read more of Georgia’s story!!!
This was definitely a very slow burn, but completely worth it in the end. I love the character development of Sadie. She became a stronger person for herself, and went through her own self discovery so she could learn about why she has lost her memory.

Got me out of my reading fatigue! It was short and mysterious and deep and beautiful. I recommend reading it if you love tension and rollercoaster romances.
