Lindsay Renee Westbrook-Taylor is a young Christian girl who meets the love of her life at age sixteen. Shaun is gorgeous, generous, intelligent—and he’s a Detroit drug dealer. Lindsay is smart enough to know that Shaun’s lifestyle is dangerous and unpredictable, but what can she say? She loves him. Lindsay struggles between her commitment to God and her love for Shaun.
Having been deserted at an early age by her father, Lindsay is determined to do whatever it takes to hold on to the one man in her life who promises her unconditional love. She defies her mother, ignores the advice of her best friend, and puts her entire family at risk, all the while holding loosely to her faith. During their thirteen-year relationship (including eight years of marriage) Lindsay has to deal with baby mama drama from Shaun’s ex, infidelity, betrayal, and all the usual abuse associated with loving a man of the streets. For Lindsay, will there ever be a point when enough is more than too much?  Find out as you journey through life, love, and death with His Woman, His Wife, His Widow !

Loved it! I read the sequel first and really liked it so I had to go back and read how everything got started. I may make this a selection for our book club. It chronicles the relationship between a sixteen year old girl and the man she falls in love with and eventually marries, who draws her away from her family and faith, and ultimately ends in murder. I think it must be someone's true story; it is told so vividly and realistically. Despite all the heartache her man brings her, she continues with him, as we sometimes do. It was satisfying and I hope to read a lot more from Janice Jones.

This was a really good read. The main character Lindsay meets a drug dealer at the tender age of 16 and strays away from the Christian values that she was raised with. From that point on her life is filled with plenty of highs and lows and lots of baby mama drama.
