This biography about Australia's famous shock jock turned up in my Christmas stocking in 2007. Back in 1994, I spent six miserable months as a pizza delivery guy and my old car only had an AM radio. As I drove around, Stan Zemanek kept me entertained with his brand of abusive right-wing carry-on, and I think I was one of his early fans from that period - so I was interested to learn more about him.
Unfortunately, much of this book is written by his wife Marcella, who focuses too much on how she loved him and how horrendous the last few months were as a brain tumour stole her husband away. It's an often maudlin, self-indulgent read and would have benefited greatly from a ghost writer, as the prose ranges from bland to appalling.
