I wished I dnfed it greatest and saved myself the trouble of finishing it. Grammar errors were the least of the annoyances in this book. No likable characters to be seen. Barely a romance at all. And not very suspenseful. Not a whole lot happened or made sense. Quite disappointed as I was excited to read this after seeing the cover and synopsis. It pains me to say it but If I could rate it lower then 1 star I would. Sorry. But maybe other will find it more enjoyable.
3 1/2 Stars! ~ Andrew is a recluse. He's been hurt all his life, first as a child in the foster system and then failed relationships. His life is turned upside down when a woman washes up on the beach behind his cottage. This beautiful woman can't seem to remember anything of who she is, except her name is Trish and that she's in grave danger. Andrew helps her find out who she is, only to discover that she's really Patricia a wealthy financier, who is a suspect in the mysterious disappearance of her business partner. A very good read.
When Andrew Davis finds "Trish" washed up on the beach during a storm, he doesn't have much of a choice but to let her stay until the storm is over, but he can't help feel there's something she isn't telling him.
Turns out, it's the fact that she can't remember anything prior to him finding her on the beach. All she does know is that she feels safe around him and Trish for some reason feels familiar to her.
Convincing Trish that they should seek the help of a doctor leads them to checking her into Havengate Hospital under the care of Dr. Duboise. Feeling Andrew pulling away from her, she decides to give the place a shot and finds it is comforting to talk to Dr. Duboise.
Not long after Andrew returns home from dropping Trish off he finds a news article about a missing woman who turns out to be Trish, only her real name is Patricia Louise Radcliffe. An intelligent business owner of her late father's company.
Now that her identity has been found, Trish begins edging into her old life, but still has no memory of it. She even finds that she doesn't like the person she apparently was.
Although she wants Andrew in her life, he finds the social gap between them hard to over come. But when evidence comes to the surface linking her with her business partner's death, Andrew is determined to back her up.
When an attempt is made on her life he becomes her unofficial bodyguard and when someone who pretended to be her friend tries to finish the job she started, Andrew is there to protect her just as her memories come back.
Now with memories, Trish is back working and her and Andrew barely see each other. When it looks like Andrew is going to Switzerland for his job, Trish makes the decision to change her lifestyle and steps away from the spot light to travel the world.
When I bought this book, I expected a lot of action scenes and stuff. That was the thing it lacked, I guess. Action. But it was a good read nonetheless.
