Even very young children can help to make the world a better place. This book begins with the concept of gratitude, because feeling grateful is a powerful motivator. Words and pictures show children contributing to their community in simple yet meaningful ways. Includes discussion questions, a philanthropy role-play, generosity games, and ideas for service projects.

She is the author of the award-winning children's series, 'Learning to Get Along', and the new series, 'Being the Best Me.' Cheri and her husband, David, have six children and three grandchildren.
I loved this book. I thought that it made some really good points towards teaching kids how to have gratitude and be generous towards other people instead of only doing things for themselves. I also really liked the fact that at the back of the book, there are ways to show gratitude and different activities kids can do to practice this concept.
Could be problematic to use in a pubblic school setting because it has a very strong emphasis on God (as in "He's so good to me, so I will be good to others").
This is one of a set of books by Meiners that we have. They are great teaching tools for young children with real life examples and illustrations. Enjoyed here!
