Shifting Passions #1

Seducing Serena

Rate this book
Serena Patterson has been on the run for seven years. Now, broke, tired, feeling defeated, she feels drawn to the home she'd left so many years ago and the three brothers she loves so much.

Giving in to her instincts, Serena returns, but only for one last glimpse of the Turner boys, Brady, Asher and Damon. She knows that if she actually makes her presence known, she'll be putting their lives into as much danger as her own has been all those years. Serena makes a decision. She is the one they're after. With her out of the way, danger will be averted from her brothers.

The Turner men are overjoyed that Serena has finally returned home to them, only to watch in consternation as she drives away again. They will not let her get away from them this time, for she doesn't know her first transformation is about to happen, and it can only happen if she mates with them.

Oh this was fabulously bad. I'm not going to give it a star rating because it's that weird range of it's so bad it's kind of good, and that's a whole different scale.

This is an erotica novella with shape-shifting white tigers that's a menage with a girl and her three (not blood related) brothers. I think that tells you everything you need to know.

It's also written by two female authors (something I needed for a reading challenge, though I'm guessing this wasn't what they had in mind when they made that prompt), and the authors seemlessly transition between themselves. For example, on one page you get this lovely sentence (yes, it's one sentence):
Her heart a dark pit of gloom, Serena Patterson turned away from the beckoning light and opened the rusted through door to the twenty year old piece of crap car she’d managed to buy with the last of her own money she’d earned doing odd jobs and got into the driver’s seat.
Followed by these sentences a page and a half later:
Brady’s grandmother was gone now. One night her soul left her aging body. She’d died peacefully while asleep.
I got it for free, and if you can do so too it was worth the enjoyment, I read it in one sitting. It's not so bad it was good I would pay for it, though.

(Dammit. GR ate my first attempt at a review.)

This was a sweet little paranormal romance.

Seven years ago, Serena overheard something she shouldn't and now there is a death threat hanging over her head. So she ran away, hoping to keep the danger away from her brothers.

But now that her brothers found her again, they have no intention of letting her go. And their intentions are not exactly brotherly. They want her for their mate. Don't worry, Serena has been having erotic dreams about her brothers these last 7 years. So their mutual attraction is a welcomed surprise.

Serena and her brothers Brady, Damen, and Asher are siblings in name only. They were all orphans adopted by Brady's grandmother. Oh, and the paranormal part. They're all white tiger shifters, including Serena, who doesn't know it yet. Female tigers don't shift until they're 25, and Serena's birthday is just around the corner.

This was an awesome book to read.

Serena has been on the run for years now. After her family was killed, she was taken in by a woman from the community who also took in her grandson and his friends. Brady, Asher and Damon don't know why she left but are happy when she is spotted outside their house. She doesn't come in but instead goes to the creek where she lost her parents. Luckily the boys go out and search for her, finding her before she freezes to death. They know something that Serena doesn't....she is coming up on her 25th birthday which means that she needs to mate or she will her other half. Brady, Asher and Damon are her mates and will do anything to keep her by their sides. The past comes back to haunt them. Can they defeat it in order to get their life together?

I'm not sure how I got hold of this. It must have been a freebie. The m/m/m/f 'pairing' isn't one I've come across before and with them being shifters I had hope of something interesting.

I really should have stopped reading when the 24year old virgin heroine felt "excitement fluttering in her tummy" at the sight of the three heros naked. "Tummy" is just not a word that fits into any sex or UST scene, at least not for me. Does anyone over ten have a tummy?

The three heros grew up together and still live together, they have been waiting for seven years for Serena to come back to them after she ran away at 17. One of them is glad she has come back because he has had no carnal desires since she left. So no m/m action there then...

I did read to the end, it was fairly short and there was that train wreck feel to it that made me finish it. I'm not going into the gaping plot hole that is central to the story, I'm just going to go away and try and resist adding freebies to my to-read folder.

I have always loved shapeshifter books, and menages are my favorite, so it stands to reason this book would be a the top of my list! The men's determination to bring Serena back into the fold in time for her to learn about her heritage is spellbinding and will keep you on the edge of your seat. I was on pins and needles waiting for the next installment!
