I had read a good story like i was read indonesian novel of da peci code. There was a guy with freezy hair. And he won't to cut his hair eventhough everyone said to him to cut his haur but still he insist to stay it long. But finally he cut because he don't want the bird build a nest on his head anymore

It was a fun, quick and easy read. Just what I was looking for this weekend. Although I didn't like all of the stories, the ones I did like introduced me for the first time to Maugham, Saki and Stephen Leacock. All of whom wrote a wealth of humorous short stories that are waiting for me to discover.

This is really meant for ESOL students, but it caught my attention when I was browsing the book stacks at work. It has a total of nine short stories written by great authors including, H. E. Bates, W. Somerset Maugham, William Saroyan, D. H. Lawrence, O. Henry, H. H. Munro, Mark Twain, F. Marion Crawford, and Stephen Leacock. What I liked most about this collection is that it has a nice blend of stories — humorous, serious, and magical — and many of them have a nice twist at the end. You can breeze through this in less than an hour, but you can quickly learn how to write a successful short story that captures your audience. These authors make it look so easy to pack in a fully developed story in just a few pages. It's not easy, but learning from these authors is a good place to start.

Really good short stories, ranging from funny to scary (but mostly funny), edited to be easily read by learners of English as a second language. The book states that it can be read by anyone with 2,000 words of vocabulary, according to the General Service List. In any case, it can be enjoyed by anyone looking for a quick read (or in my case, under the effects of cold medication).
