Erotic Contemporary Menage

Successful and stylish fashion consultant Anna Craig thinks love is a greeting card marketing conspiracy. Her overgrown hippie of a best friend, polyamorous professor Parvoti Jordan thinks she couldn't be more wrong. Challenged, Anna decides to put it to the test, convincing Parvoti to sign up with her for an online dating service for wealthy men.

Playboy Jonathan Bain's not interested in relationships. So he has no qualms about making dates with two women he gets matched with. No problem. He has no intention of falling for either of them. Let alone both.

But Jonathan's not the only one who falls. Parvoti and Anna do too...and for each other. Maybe there's something real to those Rules of Attraction.

I was born in Melbourne, Florida when it was still a tiny little town, and I was pretty much raised at the beach. At a fairly young age, my father moved us to Summerville, South Carolina. He chose South Carolina because Northrup Aviation wanted to transfer him to California, where he figured his three daughters would wind up getting into trouble. As luck would have it, I grew up to be a hippie anyway! At 16 years old, I ran away from home to go to Woodstock. I wish I could say I made it, but I got caught before I ever got out of South Carolina.

I've been married twice - unsuccessfully both times - but the second one netted me a beautiful daughter who is nearly 23 years old. I'm happily divorced with no plans of changing my marital status.

I have a B.A. in Forensic Psychology and have been doing social work for a number of years. I've worked in Addictions, Community Mental Health, Corrections, and most recently, Child Welfare. Having seen the best and worst in people, I pretty much keep to myself now. My daughter worries about the lack of a man in my life but I tell her I write my own men now and the fantasy is better than the reality.

I've been writing since my early twenties but never thought about trying to get published until I met my pal, Sheri Livingston, in a Yahoo group. I have several e-books published and several works in progress on my desktop. I have so many stories in my head that sometimes I feel a little schizophrenic. But then, I'm a psychiatric social worker, so I can treat myself!

Rules of Attraction is a sizzling, fun and entertaining read by India Masters that will leave you fanning yourself and smiling with satisfaction.

When I began reading this, I was instantly reminded of How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days – you know that romantic comedy starring Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson? One of my favorite movies! In Rules of Attraction, Anna, a fashion journalist of a well-known magazine is assigned to go beyond her love of writing of fashion, to a piece on love. Anna, however, does not believe in love and feels that men only want one thing – a no-strings roll in the hay, which she is all too happy to participate in. With that in mind, she looks to a social dating site called ManofMeans.com which is aims at wealthy men, as the title suggests. It doesn’t take long for Anna to find her victim – hot and heady Jonathon Bain.

Jonathon is an incredibly handsome man with money to spare and has never had trouble finding a willing woman to spend time with. So why does he join a dating site? As a favor to his friend – and after much haggling from his friend! What he doesn’t expect is to find two very luscious women who are completely different from one another.

Parvoti is Anna’s eccentric best friend. They have known each other and grown up together since childhood. The girls love one another like sisters and would do anything for one another. With that in mind, when Anna asks Parvoti to help her out in the dating experiment, though she is incredibly reluctant, she agrees.

What follows is anything but tame and sends three very different people, with very different lives, spiraling into an abyss of passion and feelings never before felt. Can Anna go through with her experiment at the expense of herself, Parvoti and Jonathon or will the end result be too devastating? Is love something that is actually real or just a figment of untruth brought about by society’s fantasies of happy ever after?

Rules of Attraction is not a book for the faint of heart. It is incredibly sensual, sexual and for the open-minded reader. There is the “sharing” of a man on the most intimate of levels and the intimate encounters are anything but mild. However, the writing is done is a non-perverse way and is aimed at heat, not shock-value. Though I did have the ending figured out when I just barely began reading, it did not take away from the enjoyment of the story. I loved reading and joining the characters as their connections unfolded and their feelings grew. Rules of Attraction was tons of fun to read and a book that I would recommend to anyone looking for a steamy, but well written and well plotted story. India Masters has an excellent talent for weaving a story that draws the reader in, makes them care about the characters and delve into what is happening upon the pages. Definitely a rated “R” type of book, but written with incredible style and talent!

Quote: With a mischievous smile, she clicked the profile link.

The page opened to display a larger picture of the most gorgeous man she’d ever laid eyes on. Full, pouty lips that were a sin on a man met her gaze. Hypnotizing chocolate-brown eyes stared back at her… high cheekbones, sculpted angular jawline… wavy hair caressing his cheeks on either side of his face. The man screamed sex appeal, making Anna squirm in her leather computer chair.

Rules of Attraction is a menage romance with a HFN in which two women who've been friends since childhood, and who are very different in their feelings about love, date the same guy without him knowing it. One to prove that love is real and the other friend to prove that true love doesn't really exist.

It's a light, fun and really sexually hot read.

I REALLY liked this book up until the very end. I just didn't get how 2 people who have been friends for years, suddenly end up in bed together like that. It was very weird to me how that happened to make everyone a menage and get a HEA at the end.

However, I really enjoyed the rest of the story, the build up to the HEA, the conflict, everything. That's why the ending upset me so much I guess.

I am definitely going to read more from this author though.

I was a little slow to warm up to one of the women in the book but in the end I got sucked into the story and developing relationships. The sensual scenes are smoking hot and the final scene sizzling.

not badly written. Not my favorite, but not bad. Two friends fall in love with the same guy, and with each other?
