Pogo Extra

Rate this book
Pogo's take on the 1960 elections (remember those). Begins with Miz Weevil's son Fremont being touted for presiden. His slogan is "Jes Fine" (really the only 2 words he knows but is as good a slogan as any). I goes downhill from there with Pogo's pals, Albert, Howland Owl, Congersman Frog, Tammany the tiger, Porky, P. T. Bridgeport and the rest of the Okefenokee folks contributing to the general mayhem. If you know Pogo like I know Pogo you will love this classic.

I love Pogo and found this in a junk shop today. It's brilliant - beautifully drawn, full of great satire, visual gags (the hyping publicist speaks in speech bubbles rich with advertising fonts and arrows).
