The Book of Hermetica: The Three Essential Texts: The Corpus Hermeticum, The Emerald Tablet, The Kybalion

Rate this book
The Book of Hermetica is the definitive collection of the most pivotal texts of hermetic wisdom. It includes the three most critical books in the cannon― Corpus Hermeticum, The Emerald Tablet, and The Kybalion .

Corpus Hermeticum and The Emerald Tablet are both attributed to Hermes Trismegistus and were written between 100-300 BCE. These works form the foundation of hermetic wisdom, expounding on philosophy, religion, magic, and alchemy. The Kybalion was written much later, in the 20th century, and explores the seven basic hermetic principles. Faithfully reproduced in The Book of Hermetica , these esoteric writings have inspired great minds throughout the ages―everyone from Newton and Milton to Leonardo da Vinci and Jung―and modern readers will find their pages equally fascinating.

The Book of Hermetica is the perfect introduction to the mysteries of hermeticism and essential reading for anyone interested in understanding western mystical thought through the ages.

I'd already read most translations of the emerald tablet of Hermes, but there were a couple in here I hadnt seen. the corpus hermeticum was insanity. the kybalion was a bit simpler, which makes sense since it was written in 1908.(I think I got that date right.) Now all I need is the kabbalah and the lesser and greater keys of Solomon 😁

From a historical context, I think I'm most fascinated by how easily that early Christians could've seen this as a proto-Christian work. This also has little to nothing to do with alchemical transmutation...it's all mental, maaaaan. 4 out of 5 as above, so below, as aboves.

5 stars for Corpus Hermetican and the Emerald Tablet, zero stars for the Kybalion - it's a load of crap labeled as "Hermeticism".
