Your Difference is Your Strength is a book for anyone and everyone who has ever felt out of place, misunderstood, or just...different. It’s the book for the kid who was too creative or too shy or too “weird” and who grew up into an adult who still isn’t quite sure where they fit in or if they even want to. It’s a book for you.
In Your Difference is Your Strength , Kris Ferraro, author of Manifesting , invites the oddballs and underdogs of the world to stop hiding, minimizing, or disguising their differences and instead embrace them in a powerful new way. It’s a fearless, joyful call to finally be who you actually are in a world that seems to demand uniformity.
Filled with real life examples, personal stories, journal prompts, and practical wisdom, Your Difference is Your Strength will help you identify your own genre-defying brand of “weird” and harness that power in your outlook, your relationships, your work, and your life.

I think a lot of people who label themselves the misfit will take a lot of pleasure and empowerment from this book. It has great tools to help build esteem and gives lots of personal and celebrity examples of finding strength from being different.
I did think the book could be harsh on the mainstream. It felt ostrocizing to people like me who have always straddled the line of being too different to be popular but not different enough or the right sort of different to find their niche grouping. The misfit labels left out some of this.
I do want to give this book credit for pointing out how whistle-blowers as misfits may have reasoning or may be trailblazers with it occasionally being a good thing. I'd never read anything like that before and completely agree. It really stood out among the archetypes for taking an uncommon, but visionary and compassionate stance on a generalized grouping.
I did think misfits were given too much credit for being compassionate. I wish the book had also explored how many go the opposite direction and lose patience for others, maybe assuming things based off prior experience. The book did address how prior experiences can lead to bias and bad actions in the revenge chapter bit I would have loved this to be expanded on or maybe some of the guided questions used to get people thinking more about this.
I loved the self-compassion practices. These were wonderful and might be the biggest thing the reader should take away from this book. There were a variety of practices and all felt practical and were usable tools.
A few other random things: - Don't think I didn't catch the Frozen quote in there! (It wasn't mentioned as a quote, but it was used very well.) - There was a bit of emphasis at the start as fame being a marker for trailblazing. I felt these examples should have been intermixed with everyday acts of trailblazing. - The line, "Misfits get blamed when they're mistreated." felt like something I've heard expressed. But feel to be self-defeating and not a great outlook to start with. This shouldn't be assumed.
Overall, I think this book will make many feel empowered. It just needed to cover some of the gray areas a bit more to feel complete.
Thank-you so much St. Martin's Press and Kris Ferraro for my free advanced copy. My review is unbiased. Happy belated publication day! (Released October 3)

I bought this book after watching the author on an EFT tapping video. She was very inspiring. In "Your Difference Is Your Strength" she shares many of her own challenges as someone who has embraced her differences, to become a successful energy healer, speaker and teacher. I particularly enjoyed her personal examples of empowerment fueled by others viewing her as an outsider. There are also lots of exercises to inspire readers to become their own "trailblazers." All in all a unique book on celebrating your own wisdom and inner strength.
An interesting and far-reaching text on developing self confidence that comes across as nearly-wholly genuine (a surprise in the self help space)! I received a complimentary audiobook from the publisher via libro.fm.
Useful book if you have always been treated differently and struggle with not fitting in. You don’t need to fit in! Be yourself and own it. This book will help you gain confidence
