Overall this was an okay way to get some basic french grammar knowledge. I would recommend watching a couple videos in french with french subtitles first, just to get an understanding of how the phonics work, (cause I'm sorry french phonics is a war crime that violates the Geneva convention) otherwise you won't be able to read the stories properly. I would say that up until about two-thirds of the way through this worked really well. I learned a lot in the initial chapters, but somewhere between chapter 16 and 19 it just started to get way to repetitive and I didn't feel like I was learning anything new. That would make some amount of sense if I was further than B2 in french I am not. I'm teetering between A1 and A2. I thought this would help me advance, it helped a little, but not much. I think for me at least the most effective things are watching movies and TV, Reading books and listening to audio books, and Journaling. Textbooks help to get a basic understanding of grammar rules, but they don't really help me learn a language. I would say if you are very beginner A1 to try this as soon as you understand phonics, but if your past A1 maybe skip this.
