Matt Davidson, an underachieving golf bum and a somewhat nerdy engineer, inadvertently witnesses a shocking scene while playing golf, which launches him on an adventure that becomes an emotional roller coaster ride. Though unsure what to do or how to do it, he drops everything to help a stunningly beautiful woman he’s never even met. His clumsy efforts soon entangle him in a web of sex, fraud, and abuse that could end up costing him his life. This novel is a must for the golf fan while also offering amusing and exciting twists and turns for the mystery fan.

I split my time between my summer home on the North Shore of Lake Superior and a condo in Minneapolis, having retired from a 40-year career as an Aerospace Engineer in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. I've written eight mystery novels so far and plan to keep on writing unless it stops being fun.

Recommend to golf players who enjoy reading mysteries.
Mixed feelings on this read. The second half of the book is very good with plenty of suspense and action and I raced through the the final few chapters, wondering how it was all going to work out for Matt. Characterisation throughout is consistent, the writing is of a good standard and I quite liked the moments of humour.
I dd however struggle a little with the first third of the book, introducing the characters and explaining how Matt became interested in helping Bonnie after catching sight of her at a window. Matt feels sure the mysterious woman he hasn't even met needs his help on the basis of voices in his head, one of which is his ex-wife and a dream about the woman. This part of the book really didn't work for me. A shame because once Matt stumbles across what the husband and his best man is up to it becomes an intriguing read. I quess I'm saying the book should have started almost at the mid point.
I'm not a golfer but this didn't hamper my enjoyment or inderstanding of the read. I think the golfing element will be an added bonus to golfers.
An interesting first novel. I liked the style of writing and would be hapy to read more of the author's work.
