Dillon Farraday is a soldier returning home after an injury; he discovers his exwife had been pregnant and dumped their infant son with an acquaintance before taking off. Colleen Applegate's not a girly girl--a rodeo queen, she runs her own ranch in a small town. Lisa (the ex) leaves the baby with her, knowing she's a nuturing type. Dillon tracks down his baby to her, and asks her for parenting lessons before he takes off on his own. Cute story--Dillon and Colleen are likeable, and while Lisa was not, she's not quite as much a caricature as some villains...

La novia del soldado es una novela corta de la colección de Jazmín de Herlequin. La marco en esta edición porque de hecho, no hay edición en goodreads en español aunque si esta publicada en papel (que es la edición que tengo). La historia es bastante entretenida. Aunque no es mi novela de vaqueros favorita, creo que tiene potencial y es perfecta para hacer justo lo que yo hice, pasar una tarde cómoda leyendo algo ligero. La novela tiene algunos errores de redacción pero nada muy malo. Lo que si que el final es bastante apresurado. Aun así, es buen. Me ha encantado Toby.

A very cute story.

Colleen Applegate has been caring for newborn baby Toby Farraday. The arrogant Lisa Farraday had divorced Dillon and never even told him she was pregnant. Dillon had been injured in the line of duty and was still hospitalized when he got word of Toby's exsistance.

Colleen had always known Dillon would show up, even when she wished she could keep Toby as her own son. But even showing up did not a father make, so she strikes a deal to teach him how to care for his new son.

Dillon finds that the love Colleen has shown his son, made him wish for that love to shine on him. But will he risk his heart? Will Collen be able escape the darkness of her own past to be free to love the man as well as his son?
