“Who are you looking for?”
"My wife. But it looks like she's not here."
"Seems like you're really in love with her."
"No, not really."
"She was really cranky... tactless and dull. We argued whenever we were together. The woman's only skill was keeping me had all the time."
"Guess that's why she ran away."
"But... I think I liked her a lot the way she was." — Soah & Mui/ Habaek
There aren't any massive spoilers in this review but there are some. Nothing that will ruin the volume but if you want to go in cold don't read on. If you are moving to read the volume; I liked this. I liked to see another side of Soah, seeing other characters at the fore was more than welcome and the styling remains perfection.
So-Yi is super cute, but no one is what they seem. I didn't mention it in the other volumes but the domestic violence is accurate. Possibly to the point where I'm feeling bad for the author. Domestic violence is difficult to do well and this is very well done. The mother cares for her husband despite his many flaws. The situation meant that Soah has meant that has developed a spine. And I love her for it.
Mui has quite the volume. We see his possessiveness which becomes his godhood. We get to see him drunk, which funnier than I expected. Mui shows a lot of emotion in this volume. There is a couple of gorgeous pieces of art one of Habaek and his mother, one of Habaek and Soah. The Habaek and Soah, in particular, uses shadows brilliantly. Making it appear as if Habaek, Mui and Soah are in the same image.
Nakbin was cleanup for the failings of Huye in Habaek's assassination. We've already met the handler, Ban-Wang the wolf. Huye betrayed everything for Habaek, that is where the insanely fierce loyalty comes from. But the death of Nakbin has lead to a strong resentment.
What's going on here? Well... it's true that I always wanted to run away... from a Father who wanted to sell me and a Mother and couldn't protect me... and from a nosy baby sister who was always leaning on me... the worth thing is,,, the reality of my selfish desire just to get away and be happy — Soah
