Once in a while, I read a book that truly manages to surprise me...this was one of them. On my desperate search for femdom-books without ménage, I came upon this one- I didn’t expect all that much. What shall I say: it goes straight to my favorites.
This book has some factors which automatically hook me in a story: the dominant is female- and she is neither cruel nor cold. The male sub is EXPERIENCED, which is a major turn-on in itself. I’m not that much into bratty subs who fight their nature all the time.
And the sex? WHOA. Among the best I ever read.
I loved that the author even included a tiny bit of anal play female to male- YAY for that!!!
And the ending is wonderful- big old SIGH from me…
This is among the best femdom-books I’ve read so far, I’ve got nothing to complain.
Solid five stars- and for the sex scenes alone, I’ll check out other books of the same author for sure!

After reading so many books, some good, some bad, some great, about D/s relationships, I was looking for a novella that featured a Domme (Fem-Dom). I wanted to delve into the mind of a woman, who was a exploring, or discovering, her dominant nature. I was not interested in reading about a stiletto boot-wearing, riding crop-wielding, man-hater interested in cuckolding men, or a switch, or another ménage ‘n friends, etc. It was a short list. A very short list. I was happy to find Charming Carmen.
Carmen’s friend Olivia (from Seducing Olivia) shared some of her experiences as a sub and Carmen was intrigued. Olivia (and her two husbands) invited Carmen to Incognito, their BSDM club, to see and learn more about the lifestyle. When she was introduced to some of the members, it was clear that Carmen was a Domme. She just had not learned how to express it. When Carmen saw Carl, she knew he was the sub for her. There was only one issue: Carl belonged to Kat, Domme and owner of Incognito. Oops? Awkward.
Carmen “won” a weekend with Carl (as her sub) as part of a fundraiser. They were both surprised to discover the connection they felt when the first met, was intensifying and could become deeper. Carl, an experienced sub, became her teacher. As they began to trust each other, emotions they sublimated also began to surface.
Their scenes were deeply personal and the writing really did Carmen’s character development, and growth into her Domme nature, justice. The scene where Carl finally submits fully, was beautifully constructed, and moves slowly and seductively. The sex was hot, and the connection between Carmen and Carl was palpable.
I did not read this series in order. In fact, as of writing this review, I have only read Charming Carmen. The story stands alone, even though characters appear throughout the series in each other’s stories. I downloaded Collaring Katand will likely read it next. I may work my way backwards, through the series, as most of the novellas feature more “traditional” D/s relationship with male Dom(s) and/or ménage.

Short and not great. Hard to believe it somehow took two authors to produce this. No wait, I take it back— it’s actually easy to believe, because things took such an abrupt dive halfway through that I legit thought, “wow it’s like this was written by two different people.” Oh right, it was.
Things were solidly 3-star… and then suddenly it’s overblown “conflict,” and grating stilted domspeake from our suddenly super-ultra-expert mindreading capital-D-dominatrix heroine (who’s actually only had like a day and a half of gentle experience), and just a general air of wtf/huh/nonsense. At some point I noted, “this is now so overwrought I literally do not understand what’s happening.” And then it’s over. What even.
Annoying. I should have enjoyed this.
B- setup, D+ execution.

I just got done reading this one. This is now my favorite story in the series. I am so glad Carl got his story. He is a Sub. And Carmen is finding out to be a new Dom for Carl. This was HAWT and STEAMY. I was mad that this one was not longer. I wanted the story to be longer because the story was that great.
This a rare find!

Great hot story where the hero is submissive and the heroine is a domme. This was the first story I've read with that twist.

Overall the story was pretty good but I feel like the whole situation with her former company was a lose thread that should have been tied up
