Yup, I said it!

The 2nd volume of the novel had even more of all the things I love - battle scenes! Military strategies! Palace/royalty with it's backstabbings, plottings, schemes & power plays! And of course - romance. Wohooo!!!!!! :D



Our beloved heroes Bai PingTing & Chu BeiJie continue to struggle with their loyalty/love issues...well, Beijie does, PingTing had it all figured at the end of vol1, but even so, not a moment of it was boring or repetitive. The story progresses further ~

The ending of the previous book already showed us a bit of He Xia's (who's by the way, sort of a childhood friend of PinTing's, they grew up together, didn't feel like mentioning it before) meddling which resulted in bad news for our dear couple ;(

This one has even more of meddling. >.<
Really. If no one interfered with them they could happily live together, but alas, power hungry people, are power hungry and so not just He Xia but 3 countries now try their best to separate PingTing & BeiJie O.o

Guess that's the fate of those who excel above...



I do believe in my enthusiasm I didn't properly describe our two heroes, their personality.
Hmmm...what I love most about each of them:


PingTing - her intelligence, of course! I love intelligent, strong female leads! And while part of her is always aware of every situation, her military tactician mind at work, she's also a girls that's in love for the 1st time...buuuut it doesn't turn her into an annoying brat! Did I say wohoooo? Well let me add YAAAAAAAAAAAAY! Go girl!

BeiJie - hmmm I'd say his most awesome characteristic (aside from being an awesome general, like, super awesome, beyond awesome...I wonder if such generals really lived in the past...probably 1 or two did every few centuries...his military skillzzzz are AWEsome!) is his devotion to PingTing.
Despite him being lead to believe the worst of her, he still wouldn't let go of her. ...now that I say it like that it sounds kind of not complimenting at all...ok, let me put it this way - all those stories of wars fought over 1 woman? He's the guy who did it :D Might sound bad or foolish being said like that, but once one reads the novel, the context gives it all flesh and understanding. Also, BeiJie's not the one who started it, he's simply retaliating. Oh, well, just know that BeiJie's a great guy :D


Oooooh and let's not forget the sidekicks - there are some really great sidekicks & bff's! No betrayals or backstabbings from those! Yay for true friendships! Or well, some really loyal servants! XD



If one would ask me to describe it in few sentences it would be this:
It had me hanging by the edge with suspense.
It brought tears to my eyes despite knowing the truth.

Off to 3rd and final part! :D

P.S. Ah. So apparently original release was in 7 volumes. Later re-releases made it into 4 and 3 volumes. I'm reading the 3 volume release ;)

After this re-read felt like adding some more:

.*. Every person has a breaking point. The line after which it simply ceases to matter. It differs for every person in both the way it may come to be & how long till that point, but once it's there...
.*. Heartbreak. If one does not know what it is, you will after you read this part of the novel.
.*. Tears. Doesn't matter that I already know the tearful part will come and have read it countless times, it still makes me cry every time. That's powerful writing right there. And I'm not exactly of the crying variety either, so that also speaks for both the authors way with words and the mastery of the plot.
.*. A smile. Amidst all that sorrow a smile is brought forth. Faint thou it may be, but it is there. Life.


This book seriously needs to get an official translation so that other people, many & many of them, could know the masterpiece it is. It needs to go down in history. For centuries!

นี่เป็นหนึ่งในนิยายรักจีนในตำนานอีกหนึ่งเรื่อง ที่เราได้ยินเสียงร่ำลือถึงความงดงามของภาษาและความฉลาดของคู่พระนาง จนต้องซื้อมาเก็บลงกองดอง และเพิ่งจะมีโอกาสได้อ่านงานชุดนี้ ณ เวลาที่มีการตีพิมพ์ใหม่และเปลี่ยนแปลงตัวผู้แปลไปแล้ว ดังนั้นการพูดถึงสำนวนการแปลในที่นี้ เราจึงหมายถึงเฉพาะฉบับที่เรามีอยู่นี้เท่านั้นนะคะ

เรื่องราวความรักของคู่พระนางคู่นี้ ไม่ได้แค่ถูกกดดันจากการต้องเลือกระหว่างความรักของตัวเองกับความรักต่อบ้านเกิดเมืองนอนเท่านั้น แต่ยังเพิ่มเรื่องราวความผูกพันอันลึกซึ้งฉันท์พี่น้องขึ้นมาเป็นอีกหนึ่งปัจจัยของการตัดสินใจอีกด้วย ตัวละครคู่พระนางนั้นฉลาดแบบน่าทึ่งจริงๆ แต่ในขณะเดียวกันทั้งคู่พระนางก็เลือกที่จะทำอะไร(ที่เจ้าตัวเองก็บอกว่า)โง่ๆลงไปในเรื่องของความรัก อย่างที่ผู้เขียนเองก็คงอยากจะบอกว่า ต่อให้ฉลาดแค่ไหน พอมาถึงเรื่องความรักแล้ว ก็อาจจะทำอะไรโง่ๆลงไปได้เช่นกัน

เราชอบความสัมพันธ์ของตัวละครเรื่องนี้มาก โดยเฉพาะระหว่างเจ้านายของนางเอก ตัวนางเอก และตัวพระเอก ซึ่งเป็นอะไรที่ดูลึกซึ้งและซับซ้อนดี และผู้เขียนก็ให้ความสำคัญกับตัวละครหลักทั้งสามได้แบบค่อนข้างสมดุลมาก โดยเฉพาะในส่วนที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการตัดสินใจสำคัญๆของตัวละคร นอกจากนั้น บทบาทของตัวละครประกอบก็โดดเด่นและชัดเจน (เราชอบพิเศษคือเพื่อนรักนางเอกที่เป็นอีกหนึ่งพิณในตำนาน เราว่าแม้ตัวละครตัวนี้จะไม่ฉลาดเท่านางเอก แต่นางเป็นตัวละครที่มีวุฒิภาวะทางอารมณ์และการตัดสินใจที่ดีสุดในเรื่องแล้วล่ะ) จุดมุ่งหมายของการเล่าเรื่องเด่นชัด ทำให้วิธีการเล่าเรื่องดูน่าสนใจและอ่านได้เพลินมากๆค่ะ ยังแถมสำนวนการแปลที่สละสลวยมาก โดยเฉพาะในส่วนของการตัดคำจากบทกวี (แม้การใช้วรรณยุกต์ต่างๆ ผู้แปลก็เป๊ะมาก คือหาที่ผิดไม่เจอเลยจริงๆ) เชิงอรรถท้ายหน้าก็ช่วยทำให้เราเข้าใจวัฒนธรรมและภาษาที่แตกต่างได้ชัดเจนขึ้นด้วยค่ะ

สรุปคือเสียงร่ำลือของเรื่องนี้ ไม่ได้เกินความจริงไปเลย เป็นอีกหนึ่งเรื่องที่ไม่ควรพลาดค่ะ

อยากอ่านอีกครั้ง หนังสือขายหมดแล้ว
ต้องรอ สำนักพิมพ์เดิม ออกฉบับพิมพ์ใหม่ ปกใหม่ภาพการ์ตูน (เอิ่ม...) โดยนักแปลคนใหม่ที่ไม่ใช่หลินโหม่ว
เนื้อหา สำนวนการแปลจะเป็นอย่างไรคงได้รู้กัน งานหนังสือเดือนตุลา ปลายปีนี้ล่ะ ^^

สนุกดีนะ ช่วงแรกๆ หวานมาก โมเมนท์นางเอกทุ่มมาก น่ารัก ชอบบบ
ทิงผิงนี่แบบสุด ในแง่ของรู้จักโอนอ่อน ไม่ถือฐิถิ (ช่วงแรกนะ) คือย้อม ยอมพระเอก
เป็นคาแรกเตอร์ดีงามอ่ะ

ส่วนพระเอก ตอนแรกที่มาตามจีบจากเล่มหนึ่ง มีความหวานอยู่แค่นั้นอ่ะ!
เล่มนี้ไม่ใช่ไม่หวานนะ ออกแนวสะบัดสะบิ้ง ทำเฟคไม่พอใจนางเอก ก็เข้าใจว่าทั้งรักทั้งแค้น
แต่ยังไงช่วงแรกก็ยังน่ารักอยู่ดีนะ

จนอีตาเหอเสียเข้ามาป่วน
ตรงนี้แหละ ขัดใจ โมเมนท์หกค่ำที่นางเอกรอ คือจบมาก ขัดใจมาก แต่ก็เข้าใจนะว่าอีฉากนี้มันทำให้เรื่องเดินต่อไปได้ แต่พังงง มันเริ่มดราม่าไง ฮือออ อย่าดราม่ามากนะ ไม่อยากหดหู่
ยังอยู่ได้เพราะความฉลาดและมีไหวพริบของนางเอก

เล่มนี้ดราม่าหนักมากจริงๆ นี่ก็อา��ัยเวลาว่างอันน้อยนิดในการอ่านให้จบเล่ม 2 ภายในสิ้นเดือนนี้ ฮ่าๆ จะได้จบเป็นเรื่องๆ ไปอ่ะเนอะ ช่วงดราม่าก็บีบคั้นจริงๆ บีบแบบสุดๆ พระนางไม่ได้ผิดอะไรเลย แต่ทำไมเหอเสียต้องมาทำให้เสียเรื่องด้วยนะ ข้าก็ไม่เข้าใจ ออกแนวเห็นใจองค์หญิงเย่าเทียนด้วย

อ่านไปก็เพลินๆ สนุกดีนะ ลุ้นไปด้วยว่าเออ จะลงเอยยังไงหว่า แม้ว่าเราจะไม่ได้ชอบพิงถิงหรือว่าฉูเป่ยเจี๋ย หรือว่าใครเลยก็ตามในเรื่องนี้ ก็อดที่จะลุ้นไปกับตัวละครไม่ได้จริงๆ ว่าจะหาทางหนีทีไล่ หรือว่าจะวิธีแก้ปัญหากันยังไง จะใช้ไหวพริบที่มีอยู่ต่อสู้กับเกมการเมืองได้อย่างไร

คงเป็นเรื่องหนักสำหรับผู้หญิงคนหนึ่งอย่างพิงถิงเหมือนกัน ที่ต้องมาเจอเรื่องแบบนี้ เหมือนต้องเข้ามาอยู่ในวงล้อมเกมการเมืองของแต่ละเมือง กลายเป็นตัวละครหลักที่เมืองแต่ละเมืองนำมาต่อรองกัน ก็วุ่นวายอีรุงตุงนังดีแท้เลย

เราก็ลุ้นต่อไปว่าเรื่องราวจะลงเอยยังไง แม้ว่าจะแอบไปอ่านตอนจบมาแวบๆ แล้วรู้ด้วยว่าจะจบยังไงก็ตาม แต่ระหว่างทางก็มีอะไรให้รู้สึกว่าเรื่องนี้น่าติดตามจริงๆ แม้ว่าเราจะดองมาหลายปี เพราะอ่านช่วงแรกๆ ของเรื่องในตอนนั้นแล้วยังไม่คลิกก็ตามแต่ แต่เมื่อเวลาผ่านไปก็อาจจะเป็นเรื่องที่เรารู้สึกสนุกได้ แม้ว่าไม่ได้ชอบตัวละครใดเลยก็ตาม

ช่วงนี้สปีดการอ่านน้อยมากเลยนะ เดือนละเล่มสองเล่มถือว่าเยอะแล้ว ตั้งเป้าไว้ที่ 100 เล่มตลอดปี แต่ตอนนี้เกินครึ่งปีมาแล้ว ยังไม่ถึง 60 เล่มเลย ปลายปีเราจะปั่นให้ถึงยอดที่ตั้งเป้าไว้ไหมนะ และตอนนี้สิ่งที่ตั้งใจก็คือการอ่านที่พยายามจะไม่เปิดเรื่องใหม่ดอง แต่จะพยายามตามเก็บเรื่องที่เคยอ่านแล้วดองค้างไว้ให้จบเป็นเรื่องๆ ไป เพื่อไม่เป็นการค้างคาที่ยาวนานอีกต่อไป ฮ่าๆๆ แต่ก็นะช่วงนี้ยุ่งมากๆ นิยายยังต้องแวบๆ อ่านอ่ะ คงต้องพ้นช่วงตุลาคมไปก่อน ข้าพเจ้าน่าจะได้กลับมาอ่านแบบเต็มรูปแบบอีกครั้ง ^_^ แต่คิดว่ายังไงอาจจะต่อที่ “จอมนางคู่บัลลังก์” เล่ม 3 กับ 4 ไปเลย จะได้จบเป็นเรื่องๆ ไปเนอะ

พิงถิงยอมที่จะอยู่กับฉูเป่ยเจี๋ย ยอมให้เขาทำอะไรก็ได้ตามที่อยากจะทำ โดยไม่ได้แก้ตัวอะไรเลย เขาเองก็ทั้งรักทั้งแค้นพิงถิง ก็เลยมักจะไปมีอะไรด้วย แต่กลับไม่ยอมพูดจากัน แถมยังทำท่าเย็นชาใส่ จนพิงถิงไม่สนใจที่จะกินอาหารอะไรเลย พิณที่เคยดีดก็โดนทำลายไปแล้ว เขาก็ส่งพิณตัวใหม่ไปให้

ต่อมาจุ้ยอวี้ เหมือนเป็นศิษย์ของอาจารย์คนหนึ่งที่มีวิชาการแพทย์ก็เข้ามาดูแลพิงถิง ทำให้ทั้งสองสนิทสนมกัน และตอนที่เขากับเธอเหมือนจะพูดจากันดีๆ แล้ว แต่เขากลับปล่อยโอกาสที่เธอจะบอกว่าเธอไม่ได้เป็นคนฆ่าองค์ชายทั้งสองนะ เพราะเธอตัดสินใจที่จะไม่พูดแล้ว เขาได้รับจดหมายจากพี่ชายให้กลับไปช่วยตงหลิน เขาเลยจำต้องปล่อยให้พิงถิงอยู่ที่เรือนหลังนี้

พิงถิงขอคำสัญญาแค่ว่าเขาจะกลับมาทันวันขึ้นสิบห้าค่ำเดือนหก ซึ่งตรงกับวันเกิดเขา เพราะเธอจะบอกว่าเธอท้อง ตอนนี้มีแค่เธอกับจุ้ยอวี้ที่รู้ เขารับปากแล้วก็จากไป เพื่อที่จะพบว่าโดนพี่ชายตัวเองกับฮองเฮาถ่วงเวลาให้อยู่ในเมืองนานๆ โดยพี่ชายร่วมมือกับเหอเสีย ฮองเฮาเองก็ส่งคนมาล้อมเรือนที่พิงถิงอยู่ พิงถิงเองก็รู้

สุดท้ายเมื่อเหอเสียบุกมา พิงถิงเลยเสนอหน้าไปเจอก่อน แล้วแลกมิตรภาพสิบห้าปีระหว่างกันกับเวลาสองวันที่จะรอฉูเป่ยเจี๋ย กว่าฉูเป่ยเจี๋ยจะรู้เรื่องราวทั้งหมดก็กลับมาไม่ทันแล้ว องครักษ์ทั้งหลายโดนเหอเสียฆ่าตาย ม่อหรานที่สนิทมากๆ ก็บาดเจ็บหนัก ส่วนพิงถิงก็ตัดใจจากเขาแล้ว จริงๆ ก่อนที่จะโดนเหอเสียพาตัวไป ก็ตัดสินใจที่จะดื่มยาเอาลูกออก แต่ก็ทำไม่ได้ ได้แต่กอดคอร้องไห้กับจุ้ยอวี้

เมื่อเข้าไปอยู่ในวังของพระชามาดาที่อวิ๋นเสียง องค์หญิงเย่าเทียนก็บุกมาจ้าาา ได้เห็นความสนิทสนมของพิงถิงกับเหอเสียก็ไม่พอใจ แต่ก็ทำอะไรมากไม่ได้ อัครเสนาบดีก็เสนอให้ทำร้ายพิงถิงหลังจากที่เหอเสียออกไปรบกับฉูเป่ยเจี๋ย โดยให้พิงถิงหนีไปแต่ก็โดนทำร้ายจนไม่กล้าสู้หน้าใครอีกไรงี้

ฉูเป่ยเจี๋ยมาถึงไม่เจอพิงถิง แต่เจอทหารของเมืองเป่ยเสียป่ะหว่า ที่เพื่อนนางเอกอยู่อ่ะ ส่งจดหมายเล่าเรื่องราวว่าพิงถิงไม่ได้เป็นคนทำให้องค์ชายตายนะ ตอนนั้นฉูเป่ยเจี๋ยบอกว่าไม่สนใจอะไรแล้ว ต่อให้ทำหรือไม่ทำก็รักนางอยู่ดี แล้วต่อมาก็รู้จากคนสนิทว่าพิงถิงท้อง เพราะยาที่เจอในเรือนมีสมุนไพรบำรุงครรภ์ เขาก็มุ่งมั่นที่จะหาพิงถิงให้เจอ พร้อมมารบกับอวิ๋นเสียงด้วย

พิงถิงต้องปกปิดไม่ให้เหอเสียรู้ว่าตัวเองท้อง พอเหอเสียออกไปรบ ก็ได้จังหวะที่เย่าเทียนมาหาทันที พอเสนอให้ออกไป พิงถิงก็ดีใจจนยอมออกไป แต่ก็สังหรณ์ใจว่ามีคนตาม เลยใช้เงินที่เย่าเทียนให้มาในการปลอมตัวและหนีรอดได้ทุกครั้ง พิงถิงได้ยินพวกโจรจะทำร้ายเธอก็โกรธจนวางแผนทำให้พวกโจรนั้นกลัวกันเลยทีเดียว

สุดท้ายก็ไปอยู่บ้านของประชาชนคนหนึ่งซึ่งโดนทางการมาเอาเงินภาษี ทำให้ถุงเสื้อผ้าและเงินที่เหลือน้อยนิดของพิงถิงก็โดนไปด้วย พิงถิงตั้งใจที่จะไปต่อเพื่อหาที่ๆ ตัวเองอยู่อย่างอิสระกับลูกได้

ตอนที่กำลังจะรบ เย่าเทียนโผล่มาหาฉูเป่ยเจี๋ย พูดให้เข้าใจว่าจะยอมรบเพื่อผู้หญิงคนเดียวเหรอ เหมือนพูดให้รู้ว่าเรื่องแผ่นดินกับผู้หญิงที่รักเลือกไม่ได้นะ เพราะเป็นสิ่งสำคัญที่เกื้อหนุนกัน จนฉูเป่ยเจี๋ยคิดได้ก็เลยยอมถอยทัพ และได้จดหมายจากพิงถิงที่ฝากเย่าเทียนมา ทำให้รู้ว่าพิงถิงไม่ได้อยู่ในอวิ๋นเสียงแล้ว เลยจะออกตามหานางต่อไป

อ่านแล้วบีบหัวใจ ทำไมรักกันแต่ถึงได้คลาดกันตลอด เมื่อไหร่จะเจอกันนะ คนอ่านลุ้นจนเหนื่อยแล้ว 😂

ชอบค่ะ เป็นเรื่องที่มีเสน่ห์ วางไม่ลงจริงๆ

นางเอกน่ารักมากๆ พระเอกก็รักนางสุดๆ… จริงๆเราแอบชอบเหอเสียด้วย ดูเป็นคุณชายเอาแต่ใจ

ชอบที่คนเขียนดีไซน์นางเอกให้เป็นคนไม่สวย แต่ฉลาดพูด ฉลาดวางแผน… ตอนแรกเราก็งงๆ ว่าดีดพินเก่งแล้วทำให้ป็อปได้ขนาดนี้เลยหรอ แต่คิดไปคิดมา… ก็คงคล้ายๆเวลาเราเห็นคนเกากีตาร์พร้อมร้องเพลงคลอ 555

ไม่ได้จบกันแค่ 2 อาณาจักรแล้ว
มันจะดราม่าแบบการเมือง ดราม่าด้านความเชื่อใจ
สรุปเล่ม 2 ดราม่าแบบหนักๆกว่าเล่มแรกมาก (พูดแบบรวมๆนะคะ เพราะเนื้อหามันหนักตั้งแต่เล่มแรกแล้ว)

เล่มสองสนุกมาก อ่านช้าเพราะติดอ่านหลายเล่มพร้อมกัน อาจจะเพราะดูซีรี่ย์มาแล้วเลยทำให้อ่านช้าแต่หนังสือก็สนุกมาก ชอบพระเอกนางเอก ฉลาดชิงไหวชิงพริบ เหมาะสม

As my first Chinese web novel, this absolutely blew me away. I came in expecting a sappy romance but was instead inundated with military strategy, historical and cultural knowledge and a healthy dose of humor sprinkled in. This story made me all the more interested in reading The Art of War by Sun Tzu. This is how you write a strong female lead. They don't need to be physically fighting and unrealistically flipping opponents left and right with a flick of their wrists or whatever. Bai Pingting shall linger in my memory for some time to come... So glad this was my first Chinese novel. It's shall always hold a special place in my heart.

Also known as "A Lonesome Fragrance Waiting to be Appreciated," this is a historical fiction coupled with a mixture of politics, tactics, bloodshed, and romance.

I have forgotten when and how I found this novel. It seems so long ago but even while it was still in the process of being translated into English I knew without a doubt that I will stick with this novel through the end because it was a gem. Beautiful even when hidden meanings, flavor and placement of words in Chinese were stripped and was replaced with a more understandable English. It has a blend I found completely endearing but what really strucks me the most is the profound way love and loyalty were shown, and the idea that one can learn to 'appreciate' oneself when one receives appreciation, hence the title. But the beauty of this novel does not end with addressing love and loyalty, it also speaks about freedom in every sense, the freedom to laugh, to choose happiness as an individual, and most importantly, the freedom to love. Gu fang bu zi shang showcased various themes ranging from the core of our soul up to patriotism. Throughout the novel, heartbreaks and tragedies circled the question: who will you choose, the future of your country or the love of a woman? Selflessness or selfishness? These do not only concern our protagonists but also the characters introduced in this novel. We were presented with multidimensional characters who reacted with varying degrees of love, pride, envy and more. Some, we will never understand but there are those we can sympathize.

I know some people consider romance as a "meh" genre but if ever any of you ever stumble on this piece of art, please, do try to read this because among other else, love, here, is realistic. Heartwrenchingly so, with deceptions and lies playing a role with the conclusion of a pair's love story.

Sigh. It was a fun read. Everytime I stop reading it was only because I have to reluctantly do something. You just can't stop reading until you know that Bai Pingting is going to be okay.

I was a little bit disappointed that Pingting had changed. Where was the strong, smart, and sassy girl that was present in volume 1? She was replaced by a submissive, timid girl who's own happiness was on the hands of a man. I know that the situation between couples is different from before and that the women today are way more empowered, but I just can't help give a disapproving sigh. Luckily (or unfortunately for Pingting), a series of events transpired to bring out her wits again.

I loved Pingting and Beijie in volume 1 but disliked them in the beginning of volume 2. It was only during the last half of the story the both of them grow as a character. Beijie was still the same lovestruck and handsome man. If all of the men in this world had half of Beijie's fierce loyalty and love for Pingting, we women wouldn't be so troublesome in the first place (Just kidding!... Or not haha).

And dammit! There were a lot of obstacles in the progress of Pingting and Beijie's rel't. It was like nothing good ever happened to the both of them (aside from Beijie realizing that he truly and deeply loves Pingting). It was kind of depressing and frustrating.

There were enough twists and turns to make you feel dizzy after reading. It definitely kept me on my toes since the plot was unpredictable. Some lines for me were too cheezy but it was okay. Overall, I still enjoy reading this series. I just hope there's a happy ending.

การที่พิงถิงตระหนักว่า ยอดขุนพลอย่างฉูเป่ยเจี๋ย หากระหว่างบ้านเมืองและตัวนาง สิ่งที่เขาจะเลือก ..ไม่ใช่นาง..

เรารู้สึกว่าเล่มนี้ใช้คำซ้ำเยอะ ยกคำที่กล่าวไว้ระหว่างตัวละครขึ้นมาเยอะ บรรยายความรู้สึก ถ้าพอดีมันจะดีมาก แต่ถ้าเยอะเกินไปมันจะน่ารำคาญ ซึ่งในเล่มนี้เราว่ามันเยอะเกินไป กล่าวถึงจันทราเยอะมาก 55555 แต่โดยรวมแล้วก็ยังชอบอยู่ดี

I didn't like the first part of this book so much because I kinda miss the strong Pingting from the previous volume but I do understand that she fell in love and sometimes, people do change a bit when they fall in love. But aside from that little complaint, I still enjoyed this volume a lot.

On a side note, I was googling about this book when I read that it will have a drama adaptation. it has already started filming last May. I was so excited to read that. Coz this novel will be so good if adapted very well. Additional to that, they casted Wallace Chung (!!!) as Chu Beijie and Angelababy as Bai Pingting. I LOVE the casts (although Angelababy seems to be too pretty to be Bai Pingting but whatever). This made me even more excited.

เหนื่อยกับพระ-นาง ไม่ชอบนางเอก นางเยอะ นางอดข้าวเรียกร้องความสนใจ นางจะฆ่าตัวตายบ่อยมากกกก ไม่ชอบอ่ะ ไม่รักตัวเองเลย พระเอกแม่งก็เยอะตาม เฮ้ออ บึนปากใส่บ่อยมากจริงๆ นางไม่แม้แต่จะคู่ควรนางเอกละครหลังข่าว คือเป็นนางร้ายตัววีนน่ะพอได้ ไหนว่าฉลาด คุมทัพได้ คือคนคุมทัพได้ฉลาดไม่พอหรอก ต้องอีคิวสูงด้วยนะ แต่นางไม่มี บุคลิกย้อนแย้งกันเอง พยามเข้าใจว่านี่นิยายรักนะ แต่ๆๆๆๆ นางเยอะไปจริงๆ ไม่ชอบเล่มนี้ ไม่โอเค แต่รวมๆ เรื่องนี้คงให้ 4 ดาวน่ะ ให้ความพยามในเรื่องกลยุทธิ์ที่คุ้นหูคุ้นตามากๆ อยู่ไป

Volume 2 - basically a lot of heart break and a fair amount of violence against women. If you are in for volume 1 - then you'll stay for volume 2 and 3.

I was re-reading this because it is being made into a 50 episode tv series with the English title of "General and Me" with Angelababy and Wallace Chung. The trailer is up on YTube and it looks very good!

4.5 I would have given this a 5, but Chu Bei Jie was very brutal towards Bai Ping Ting in the book when he held her captive. I watched the show before I read the book and saw lots of differences. I really liked the show much better, made CBJ more romantic and not a cruel killer as he is portrayed in the book. Since I read the translated version of the book, there were lots of mistakes and probably did not translate very well into English. Over all this book was great, though I thought the show was much better.
