How many people who have never been in chronic pain need enlightenment?
This author as so many people in America do now, proclaims that every person ever given opioids will become an addict! WRONG!!! That is a tragic oversimplification. I know, I've been on opioids for the last 20 years and I am physically addicted because of the extended time, but have never been high and when I was released from the hospital, like almost all others was not addicted. Our nation must pull our head out of the sand and face the fact before more suicides occur. Yes, with the ADA's suggestion for all opioids to be withdrawn from the population there has been unnumbered suicides from those in chronic pain who have committed suicide because they have been unable to cope with the pain. In addition, there is another untold community who have died because healthcare has withdrawn them from opioids too quickly. Is there a drug problem in this country? Yes, of course there is. However the person's treated for short periods and chronic pain patients do not fall in that category. The people who do belong are ADDICTS! The people who thought it fun to take drugs or get a high from taking them comprise this population. WAKE UP AMERICA become educated about a topic before you ride on a bandwagon. I'm sorry, I could not finish the books after reading the just plain wrong referral to opioids medication. Sandy
I loved both stories. They kept me engaged once I got thru the slow start. The plot made sense even though it changed many times unexpectedly. I would like to see a sequel to this story.
