Honestly, this volume was pretty interesting and fun especially when it started with Fukiyose and Touma and them having to do weeding as punishment for their "silly argument" causing trouble in the classroom. I loved it when they started playing baseball because they were so into it lol. I also really enjoyed the tonal shift with one of the 12 directors of Academy City appearing before Touma, just to try and get him to fix the problem with the C-Document that is controlling Roman Catholic believers into protesting and accelerating the war. I thought it really showed how serious the situation was, how much more there seems to be about Imagine Breaker (other than being a magic cancelling type of thing), and how much the higher ups seem to watch over Touma and what he's doing. Although it took a while for Itsuwa and Touma to move on with destroying the magical pipeline to stop the C-Document from being used properly, I did enjoy the concept of Terra of the Left's skills/magic. It was an interesting concept that definitely has more weaknesses than strengths but it was still pretty nice to see a bit more variation in magic. However, as usual, the volume itself wasn't too interesting overall since it lacks the "punch" to make it different from the others aside from more unravelling of mysteries of stuff like Imagine Breaker actually being more than it seems, and Misaka finding out that Touma had "lost" his memories.

This was quite a fun volume despite its flaws. I love how this series goes into much more detail than the anime. The build up to the war, the magic system: everything feels more fleshed out. The only downside to this volume is the villain. He basically comes out of nowhere towards the end and is essentially just a reason for the MC to have a fight and to punch, as always. His motivation is boring and he has no depth. But that’s not enough to bring this volume down too much. Everything else was fun. And Misaka finally learning about Kamijou’s amnesia is spicy.
