The Mustard Seed #3

The Temptation

Rate this book
The Temptation continues the sagas of Haven, Nebraska, visitors Julia, Kathy, Del, and Walter as they live out the commitments they made in The Quest. Now successful in their separate pursuits, the Havenites think all is going well-and therein lies great danger. As complacency attacks the characters' focus on God, they start believing their achievements have risen from their own savvy and power. When Del decides to organize a reunion, the characters face Satan's chaotic interference and learn the true nature of temptation: inevitable, subtle, biting, and potentially disastrous. They must recover their courage to live out their plea to the Lord: "Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. . . ."

Nancy Moser is the author of over forty books. Her award-winning stories will inspire you to discover your unique God-given purpose. Her genres include both contemporary and historical stories, inspirational humor, and children's books.

Her newest release, "An Undiscovered Life" is about an elderly woman who wants her family to know about her "before" life—her life before them. It's inspired by Nancy's mother who died in 2020 at age 99. It's a poignant, inspiring family story.

Another newer release is "Eyes of Our Heart" which showcases a group of ordinary people who are called to discover where God is working in their lives--and join Him.

Another recent release is "The Shop Keepers", book #3 of the Pattern Artist series about a group of women designing fashion and opening their own store in 1911-19 New York City. The first book in the series, "The Pattern Artist", was a finalist for a Romantic Times award.

Other titles include the time-travel historicals, "Where Time Will Take Me", "Where Life Will Lead Me", and the Downton Abbey-inspired Manor House Series beginning with "Love of the Summerfields."

Her historical bio-novels allow real women-of-history to share their life stories: "Just Jane" (Jane Austen), "Mozart's Sister" (Nannerl Mozart),"Washington's Lady" (Martha Washington) and "How Do I Love Thee?" (Elizabeth Barrett Browning.)

"An Unlikely Suitor" was named to Booklist's Top 100 Romance Novels of the last decade. Nancy's time-travel novel, "Time Lottery", won a Christy Award, and "Washington's Lady" was a finalist. Her contemporary books are known for their big-casts and intricate plotting.

Some contemporary titles are "The Invitation", "John 3: 16", "The Sister Circle", and "The Seat Beside Me."

Nancy and her husband live in the Midwest. She's earned a degree in architecture, traveled extensively in Europe, and has performed in numerous theaters, symphonies, and choirs. She is a fan of anything antique--humans included.

Mustard Seed series

I really appreciated then verses at the beginning of each chapter. It gave insight into what T happening, as well as, giving new meaning and greater understanding of how big our God is. This series has helped me to see God's hand and direction in my life. Evil may always be here, but God is greater.
If you appreciate a good story with characters that are fun, engaging, make you laugh, cry, are good, bad, all the details that make character building so important to a story, you will love this series. I truly love a book a that draws me into it, and I had to find what was happening next, and how these intersecting lives influenced and lived in community in our American culture.
Very suspenseful, evil and devil characters, good over evil, salvation, human emotion, temptation of man, angels and scriptures.

Total surrender

I have eaten up all three books in this series. At the end of this book I asked myself what the bottom line message was for me. I didn’t have to wait 30 seconds until I got my answer. Total surrender.
I appreciated these books were written out of Nancy’s own experiences with God. I was encouraged that I am not crazy when things out of the ordinary happen.
The reality that the enemy’s minions are real and can cause havoc or even questions resulting with doubt, in our lives.
Thank you for bringing the new obvious and reality into our lives living from a believer’s spiritual perspective.

God versus Evil

Everyone is given free will to decide what they want to do in their life. Some people try to live on the fence of good and bad. A reunion of Haven participants bring out the trials and temptations of various characters. This is book 3 in a series, but it is a good read without reading book 1 and 2. But, I bet you will read book 1 and 2 afterwards. I wanted a book 4!

Great book

This book was a great story about the characters who had been to the reunion in Haven and then were back to living their lives in the world when one of them gets a message from God that they need to have a reunion of not just the five who came to Haven,Nebraska but of all who had gone to a Haven in the USA. The story keeps you reading.

2nd Chances

This 3 book series is the best I’ve ever read. It takes the story of revival from the Bible and puts it into a believable real life story. The first is your Invitation- your calling. The second is The quest- how you respond. And the third is how you handle the Temptation to return to your old self. A MUST READ for all people.

The story line was great and very believable. Walter and Del were my favorite characters as they seem to have great depth. I pray that Ms. Moser continues this series.

Love this series

I absolutely love this series! This is one series I have binge read in less than five days. If you enjoy Frank Perry to, you will enjoy these. Spiritual warfare, sacrifice, redemption... They are all covered.

The best of the trilogy is this book!

This book is certainly the best of the trilogy because it reminded me that if I don’t come closer to Him I could be lukewarm. He should be and will be center of my life. What a story to experience instead of just enjoying reading the book.

Mesmerizing!

I’m encouraged & uplifted every time I read (or re-read!) one of Nancy Moser’s books. I always spend time making notes & looking up Scripture while reading, because I want to know & do more.

Continuing on with the final book in this series, it was interesting to see how the characters adapted and/or struggled with the path God had chosen for them, learning to trust that all things work together to glorify Him. Have loved this series and will miss the characters! A great read for any who struggle with letting go of our own desires and letting God lead!
