Looks like Japanese fantasy world. And I didn't understand anything. I get what's goin' on but I did not understand. Than I checked the blurb and read the book again and still couldn't understand.
Cuz' there is no text, not a single word.
But is this an obstacle for me to enjoy it, NO.
I love it.
This kind of works more like for collection. At one point, it doesn't matter if it has a story or not. So the fountain head of the story is just for inspiration. For me.

Artwork is fascinating. Probably mixed used, sometimes it's sketchy, sometimes colored hand-drawing (both digital-or-traditional), sometimes looks-like-full-digital painting.
It's sexy, brutal, wild; in classical way if u know I mean.

people who understand, please explain FFS!

9/10.
It sometimes relies too much on eros. But the art and the poetry is ever present and give the story a sense of depth that is pretty rare in this kind of productions.

The book has an Asian theme, though these is some influence from Arabic theses as well. The featured characters - men and women - have idealized features. The men are strong warriors, while the women are sensual creatures of great beauty. The many tattoos stand out on the characters and make them seem otherworldly. A few images of brutal violence and impressive vistas break the flow of pinups, reminding us that the artist isn't entirely TnA-centered. When he does focus on the female form, he goes out of his way to display femininity and sensuality. For some reason all of the characters are sad, likely because they live in times of war. Both women and men wield swords, so they likely don't shy away from dealing in death. Some postures display reverence, praying or traditions like burial at sea. The book ends with what seem to be the two main characters fighting with swords. The woman loses, but ultimately gives herself fully to the man.

A collection of Luis Royo artwork centered around a fantastical world influenced by Japanese culture. The painted pieces are all great, though there aren't as many here compared to the plethora of sketches, some having the appearance of being incomplete. Dead Moon seems like a concept more than a connecting theme, since some of the artwork is deriving from a variety of influences, leading to a pretty disconnected set of images. Either way, Royo's conceptualization of a fantasy setting with Edo period or Japanese folklore influences would be cool to see realized, so this provides an enticing taste of what that would look like.

There was so many beautiful drawings in Luis Royo's book. The artwork was just fantastic, but I think the story just went on a little bit to quickly, so a bit more background info(meaning more artwork) would be great.
The description to this book were like this:

"A great fantasy tale of love and brutal faces two characters: one female, Moon and one male Mars. Two rival families with individual strengths of each side of the city, which suffers the consequences of that passion. A violent and romantic history leading to revelation, an eastern-flavored story in a gothic world, tragic, and anod to the demise of Sodom."

The female on the cover is of course Moon and during the whole book you will get to see her in many different outfits as well as nudity, and her counterpart is Mars which is a warrior. They have a love-and-hate relationship and you didn't get to see them interacting until the end when they give in to their passion. The artwork were very detailed and very realistic with an asian touch that it just got me turning page after page.
