Fayrene Preston was born in Texas, USA where she raised. Her high school years were straight out of the movie American Graffiti — good friends and that wonderful rock ‘n' roll. After high school, Fayrene attended college and earned an Associate degree in Business Administration.
Almost immediately afterward the university, she married a Navy man and for the next five years they traveled back and forth across America several times and lived on both coasts. Although the marriage didn't last, she was blessed with two completely wonderful sons, both grown now, and the most beautiful little granddaughter you've ever seen in your life!
She counts herself as very lucky. Books have always been an important part of her life, and now she gets to make her living by writing them. She can't think of anything to make one happier. She published her debut novel as Jaelyn Conlee in 1982, now continued writing as Fayrene Preston.

“For the Love of Sami” is the story of Sami and Daniel.. and WOW.
Sami Adkinson is an incognito heiress. Traumatized by her past neglect, she spends her time fighting for the rights of the needy, living like a gypsy with two of her best friends all the while finding happiness in the smallest things.
When a mild altercation while protesting killing of baby seals leads to her arrest, she finds herself rescued by Daniel St James, a prolific lawyer and love sparks fly.
The two embark on a beautiful relationship, but Sami is hiding many secrets, including her insecurities and wealth. Will Daniel be able to untangle her web?
What a wonderful read! Strong, loving and supportive hero- Kind hearted, willful and honest heroine- no misunderstanding- ample of love and passion and utter devotion.
Kept me glued from page one and was a fantastic read.
Happy to know about Morgan’s HEA and can’t wait for Jerome.

For the Love of Sami by Fayrene Preston is a lovely romance released by Loveswept in 1984 and is evocative of that time. Sami Adkins is a beautiful, big hearted free spirit with a traumatic past. Daniel Parker St James has the fortune of rescuing her from jail, and the two tumble headlong into love.
Definitely leaning into the manic-pixie and strait laced-by the books types.

Inherited from Grandma. it was fine. I liked Daniel over all he was good and patient and kind which was nice to see and she very much deserved. But overall the book just didn't really spark for me they both "loved" each other to quickly. And the big identity reveal was very anti climatic I hate unnecessary miscommunication as much as the next person but needs to be a little drama for fun.
