About the author

W.C.E. Newbolt (1844–1930) was an English Anglican priest and theologian. He was a prominent Tractarian and headed Ely Theological College in Ely, Cambridgeshire, between 1887 and 1890, when he became a canon of St Paul's Cathedral.
